Nine women protesters in Sudan were sentenced on Saturday to 20 lashes and one month in prison for participating in protests, the Democratic Alliance of Lawyers said.
This came a day after Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir ordered the release of all women in detention for participating in anti-government demonstrations.
Bashir announced a state of emergency last month, resulting in a series of measures, including the establishment of emergency courts across the country, such as the court in Khartoum, which condemned the nine women.
According to Reuters, the Democratic Alliance of Lawyers, part of a gathering of Sudanese professionals, the main organizer of the protests, said more than 800 people had been tried in emergency courts.
Sudan has been witnessing almost daily protests against Bashir since 19 December. The protests were triggered by rising prices and lack of financial liquidity but have become Bashir's strongest challenge since he took power in a military coup 30 years ago.
On Friday, on the occasion of International Women's Day, Bashir ordered the release of all women arrested for their links to the demonstrations
Hundreds took part in protests in Khartoum and Omdurman that day without being deterred by emergency measures.
Bashir also sacked the central government, appointed security officials to replace state governors, expanded police powers and banned public gatherings without a permit.
The gathering of Sudanese professionals called for new demonstrations in Omdurman on Sunday.

قال التحالف الديمقراطي للمحامين إن تسع نساء محتجات في السودان حُكم عليهن، اليوم السبت، بالجلد عشرين جلدة والسجن شهرا للمشاركة في الاحتجاجات.
جاء ذلك بعد يوم واحد من توجيه الرئيس السوداني عمر البشير بالإفراج عن جميع النساء المحتجزات لمشاركتهن في مظاهرات مناهضة للحكومة.
وأعلن البشير حالة الطوارئ الشهر الماضي مما نتج عنه سلسلة إجراءات من بينها إنشاء محاكم طوارئ في أنحاء البلاد مثل تلك المحكمة الموجودة في الخرطوم والتي أدانت النساء التسع.
وحسب (رويترز) قال التحالف الديمقراطي للمحامين وهو جزء من تجمع المهنيين السودانيين المنظم الرئيسي للاحتجاجات، إن أكثر من 800 شخص حوكموا أمام محاكم الطوارئ.
ويشهد السودان احتجاجات شبه يومية ضد البشير منذ 19 ديسمبر/ كانون الأول. واندلعت هذه المظاهرات بسبب زيادة الأسعار ونقص السيولة المالية ولكنها تحولت إلى أقوى تحد للبشير منذ توليه السلطة في انقلاب عسكري قبل 30 عاما.
كان البشير أمر أمس الجمعة وبمناسبة اليوم العالمي للمرأة بالإفراج عن جميع النساء اللائي اعتقلن لصلتهن بالمظاهرات
وشارك مئات في احتجاجات بالخرطوم وأم درمان في ذلك اليوم دون أن تردعهم إجراءات الطوارئ.
كما أقال البشير الحكومة المركزية وعين مسؤولين أمنيين محل حكام الولايات ووسع صلاحيات الشرطة ومنع التجمعات العامة دون تصريح.
ودعا تجمع المهنيين السودانيين لمظاهرات جديدة في أم درمان غدا الأحد.
