Social media platforms tread carefully when it comes to the Russian government---- By Brian Fung,

Why Ukraine war misinformation is so hard to police Social media platforms tread carefully when it comes to the Russian government By Brian Fung, (CNN Business)As its troops have gotten bogged down in Ukraine, the Russian government has been fueling a conspiracy theory on social media about the purpose of US-funded biolabs in Ukraine. In posts spread across Facebook, Twitter and YouTube viewed by CNN this week, Russia's foreign and defense ministries have repeated claims that Ukraine had been researching biological weapons — an assertion that's previously been rejected as false by the United States, its allies and a top United Nations disarmament official. In fact, the US-supported labs are part of a program to develop vaccines and perform peaceful research, the United States has said, while White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki has described the Russian claim as "propaganda" and a potential pretext for Russia to deploy chemical or biological weapons itself in Ukraine

OECD member states instructed the body's secretary-general to formulate plans to strengthen support for Ukraine, including measures to support its economy, as noted in a statement on the OECD website. The European Union on Wednesday agreed to extend the sanctions on Russia and Belarus, imposing them on 160 different individuals and amending regulations to make the sanctions on the two countries more aligned. Jolly Monday On … Er … What’s That Day??? by jilldennison

Jolly Monday On … Er … What’s That Day??? by jilldennison Today is February 14th which means it is Valentine's Day ... whoopee.  I guess I'm not a very romantic person, for I've always found Valentine's Day to be rather silly, but ... this year, we need all the love, joy, and humour we can get in our lives, so for what I believe is the first time in my blogging career, I am doing a Valentine's Day post.  But before we get started, I believe that Joyful has whipped us up some Valentine's treats, so grab a snack from the table ... And for our favourite bacon-lovers ... I considered starting this post with a brief history of this day, but it turns out the history of Valentine's Day is anything but brief!  Suffice it to say that way back in the days of Ancient Rome, it was a tradition for men to beat women with animal hides on this day!  Yep, according to an article I found in NPR ... "The men sacrificed a goat and a dog, then whipped women with the hides

We’re teaching our children that when adults are afraid the Constitution is null and void. That most adults fear nature more than they love freedom. That bullying is bad except when it’s government sponsored and culturally sanctioned. That hate speech is bad except when targeting the people the government trains us to hate. That free speech is outdated and dangerous. That censorship is bad except when people expose liars and their lies. That news anchors are B-grade actors in C-grade propaganda productions. That objective journalism is outdated and dangerous. That many of the people who once protested segregation, discrimination and tyranny are now petty tyrants who celebrate segregation and discrimination. That liquor stores are more
