Lawsuits against Assad for war crimes in the International Criminal Court
The International Criminal Court in The Hague has received two judicial appeals against President Bashar al-Assad, a precedent previously unknown to the Syrian regime, despite the devastation caused by the people's revolution since 2011.
The Gornika Center for International Justice filed a lawsuit on Monday (March 4th) against the Syrian regime, while a group of British lawyers from Stock White filed another lawsuit on behalf of the Syrian victims, a case that could have the biggest impact on officials in the Syrian regime Headed by Bashar al-Assad.
The Syrians, who came close to the London-based firm Stoke White, accuse Bashar al-Assad and his regime of blatant assaults, arbitrary arrests, forced displacement, torture and bombing, the use of explosives and chemical weapons, crimes against humanity".
1183 victims and 18 accused by Assad!
On Thursday, Rooney Dickson, a lawyer at Stoke White, filed the lawsuit with the International Criminal Court (ICC) prosecutor and his colleagues at the request of victims to a group of Assad officials.
The number of Syrian victims who applied was 1183, most of them forcibly displaced.
Among the victims are 650 men and 523 women, as well as a group of war-wounded children and those with permanent physical disabilities.
According to the media, "along with Bashar al-Assad, there are 18 officials accused, including military leaders and officials of the intelligence service, and directors of prisons proved to be evidence of torture of detainees."
Several attempts to sue Assad have failed in the past because of Syria's failure to sign the Rome Statute, which established the International Criminal Court in The Hague, as well as Russia's efforts to abort any attempt.

تلقت المحكمة الجنائية الدولية في لاهاي دعوتين قضائيتين ضد الرئيس بشار الأسد، وهي سابقة لم يعرفها النظام السوري من قبل، رغم الدمار الذي تسبب فيه خلال مواجهته ثورة الشعب منذ 2011.
ورفع مركز "غورنيكا" للعدالة الدولية الاثنين 4 آذار/ مارس دعوى ضد النظام السوري، فيما رفعت مجموعة من المحامين البريطانيين التابعين لشركة المحاماة "ستوك وايت" دعوى أخرى باسم الضحايا من السوريين، وهي القضية التي قد يكون لها الوقع الأكبر على مسؤولين في النظام السوري وعلى رأسهم بشار الأسد.
السوريون الذين اقتربوا من مكتب المحاماة "ستوك وايت" والذي يتخذ من لندن مقرا له، يتهمون بشار الأسد ونظامه بالاعتداء الصارخ، والاعتقالات التعسفية، والتهجير القسري، والتعذيب والقصف بالقنابل، واستخدام المتفجرات والأسلحة الكيمائية، ما يمكن اختصراه في عبارة "جرائم حرب" أو "جرائم ضد الإنسانية".
١١٨٣ ضحية و18 متهما يتقدمهم الأسد!
وقدم الخميس، روني ديكسون، المحامي الذي يقوم على هيئة "ستوك وايت" التي رفعت القضية، عريضة الدعاوى للنيابة العامة بالمحكمة الجنائية الدولية، والتي وجهها وزملاؤه بناء على طلب الضحايا إلى مجموعة من المسؤولين في نظام الأسد.
وبلغ عدد الضحايا السوريين الذين تقدموا بالطلب 1183 ، معظمهم من المهجرين قسرياً.
ويوجد من بين الضحايا 650 رجلاً 523 وامرأة، بالإضافة إلى مجموعة من الأطفال من الذين تعرضوا لإصابات جراء الحرب، وأولئك الذين أصيبوا بإعاقات جسدية دائمة.
وأفادت وسائل إعلام أنه "إلى جانب بشار الأسد، هناك 18 مسؤولا متهما بينهم قيادات عسكرية ومسؤولون في جهاز المخابرات، ومدراء سجون ثبت بالدليل أنهم مارسوا تعذيب المعتقلين".
يذكر أن محاولات عديدة لرفع دعاوى ضد الأسد فشلت سابقا لعدم توقيع سوريا على "اتفاقية روما" التي أسست محكمة الجنايات الدولية في لاهاي، إضافة إلى الجهود التي بذلتها روسيا لإجهاض أي محاولة في هذا الصدد.
