Renewed demonstrations in Sudan .. Police are firing gas in Omdurman

Sudanese police on Sunday fired tear gas to disperse demonstrators in new protests in the city of Omdurman, condemning President Omar al-Bashir's announcement of a state of emergency and making changes and new appointments in the government.
"Police fired tear gas at hundreds of protesters in the Busta area of the Omdurman market. Demonstrations took place in other parts of Khartoum as anti-government protests entered their third month," Sky News reported.
The demonstrations began on December 19 in protest against the government raising the price of baguette 3 times, and quickly turned into protests broke out by violent confrontations.
Officials say 31 people have died in violence related to demonstrations, while Human Rights Watch says the death toll is at least 51.

تجدد المظاهرات بالسودان.. والشرطة تطلق الغاز في أم درمان

أطلقت الشرطة السودانية، الأحد، الغاز المسيل للدموع لتفريق المتظاهرين في احتجاجات جديدة اندلعت بسوق مدينة أم درمان، منددة بإعلان، الرئيس عمر البشير، حالة الطوارئ، وإجراء تغييرات وتعيينات جديدة في الحكومة.
وأفاد مراسل سكاي نيوز عربية" بأن الشرطة أطلقت قنابل الغاز المسيل للدموع على مئات المحتجين في منطقة "البوستة" بسوق أم درمان، فيما خرجت تظاهرات في مناطق أخرى في الخرطوم، في الوقت الذي دخلت فيه الاحتجاجات المناهضة للحكومة شهرها الثالث.
وكانت التظاهرات قد بدأت في 19 ديسمبر احتجاجا على رفع الحكومة سعر الرغيف 3 أضعاف، وسرعان ما تحولت إلى احتجاجات تخللتها مواجهات عنيفة.
ويقول المسؤولون إن 31 شخصا قتلوا في أعمال عنف متصلة بالتظاهرات، فيما تقول منظمة هيومن رايتس ووتش إن عدد القتلى يبلغ 51 على الأقل.
