A global report revealed serious information on the volume of arms sales to the Middle East, within five years, warning of a threat to the region.
According to the Munich Security Report 2019, the volume of arms purchased by the Middle East countries over the next five years (from 2013 to 2017) doubled compared to the same period before 2013.
The report monitors the volume of arms sold to the Middle East every five years.
The report warned that the findings of the report indicate the possibility of an arms race in the region, which is witnessing a shift in the course of the American presence from direct intervention in the crisis to a new policy depends on its allies to maintain their interests without having a direct role in the conflicts of the region.
The Munich Security Conference is due to take place between February 15 and 17, with officials from more than 80 countries around the world.
The report pointed out that the decision of US President Donald Trump on the withdrawal of US forces from Syria, and adoption of the policy of confrontation with Iran after the withdrawal of the nuclear agreement with them, will have a role in the restructuring of the balance of power in the Middle East.
"The US government's approach to supporting its traditional partners in the Middle East, especially Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Israel, will have an impact on the nature of military balances in the region.

كشف تقرير عالمي معلومات خطيرة عن حجم مبيعات الأسلحة لدول الشرق الأوسط، خلال 5 سنوات، محذرا من خطر يهدد المنطقة.
ذكر تقرير ميونخ للأمن 2019، أن حجم الأسلحة، التي اشترتها دول الشرق الأوسط خلال 5 سنوات (من 2013 — 2017) تضاعف مقارنة بذات الفترة قبل عام 2013.
ويرصد التقرير حجم الأسلحة، التي يتم بيعها لدول الشرق الأوسط كل 5 سنوات.
وحذر التقرير من أن النتائج، التي توصل إليها تشير إلى إمكانية اندلاع سباق تسلح في المنطقة، التي تشهد تحول في مسار الوجود الأمريكي من التدخل المباشر في الأزمة إلى سياسة جديدة تعتمد على حلفائها للحفاظ على مصالحها دون أن يكون لها دور مباشر في صراعات المنطقة.
ومن المقرر أن ينعقد مؤتمر ميونخ للأمن بين 15 و17 فبراير/ شباط الجاري، بمشاركة مسؤولين من أكثر من 80 دولة حول العالم.
ولفت التقرير إلى أن قرار الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترامب بشأن سحب القوات الأمريكية من سوريا، واعتماده سياسة المواجهة مع إيران بعد الانسحاب من الاتفاق النووي معها، سيكون له دور في إعادة تشكيل موازين القوى في الشرق الأوسط.

وأضاف "كما أن توجه الحكومة الأمريكية نحو دعم شركائها التقليديين في الشرق الأوسط وخاصة السعودية ومصر وإسرائيل، سيكون له تأثير على طبيعة التوازنات العسكرية في المنطقة.
