Sudan Demonstration: Citizen Killed in Khartoum
A Sudanese national was killed by teargas gas inhalation at a marine hospital north of Khartoum during a rally called by a group of Sudanese professionals.
The assembly said that the citizen claims Abu Bakr Osman Yusuf, 62 years old.
Al-Hurra correspondent in Khartoum reported that a vegetable vendor was injured in the head when police fired tear gas canisters. Activists posted pictures of the wounded man in a pool of blood and said he had been killed.
Sudanese police fired tear gas at an anti-government rally in the capital Khartoum, witnesses said, as protesters continued their campaign against President Omar al-Bashir's rule.
Dozens of protesters marched to the north of Khartoum and chanted slogans against the government, but riot police confronted them.
"We will not give up, we will continue to protest," said Afra, who refused to give her full name for security reasons.
Al Hurra can not verify the credibility of what is posted on social networking sites.
Sudan has been witnessing protests over price hikes since December 19, which soon turned into calls for the overthrow of the ruling regime led by President Omar al-Bashir.
The protests resulted in the deaths of about thirty people, according to the government, in exchange for another statistic of more than 50 people, according to opposition parties and human rights organizations.
"When we continue to demonstrate, more people will join us," she said.
Eyewitnesses reported that small demonstrations took place in other parts of the capital, and police arrested several protesters.
Activists published pictures of demonstrations they said went out on Sunday in several areas in Sudan, including Shambat, the central station (Bahri), Abasab, Omdurman (northwest). They were dispersed by police using tear gas and bullets, activists said.

أعلنت لجنة الأطباء المركزية الأحد وفاة مواطن سوداني جراء الاختناق بالغاز المسيل للدموع في مستشفى بحري شمالي الخرطوم، خلال تظاهرات دعا لها تجمع المهنيين السودانيين.
وأوضح التجمع أن المواطن يدعي أبوبكر عثمان يوسف ويبلغ من العمر 62 عاما.
وأفاد مراسل الحرة في الخرطوم بإصابة بائع خضار في الرأس جراء إطلاق الشرطة لقنابل الغاز المسيل للدموع، وكان ناشطون على مواقع التواصل قد نشروا صورا للمصاب مضرجا وسط بركة من الدماء، وقالوا إنه قتل.
وأطلقت الشرطة السودانية الغاز المسيل للدموع على تجمع مناهض للحكومة في العاصمة الخرطوم، بحسب شهود عيان، فيما واصل المحتجون حملتهم ضد حكم الرئيس عمر البشير.
وخرج عشرات المتظاهرين إلى شوارع بحري شمال الخرطوم وهتفوا ضد الحكومة، إلا أن شرطة مكافحة الشغب تصدت لهم.
وقالت المتظاهرة عفراء التي رفضت كشف اسمها الكامل لأسباب أمنية "لن نستسلم، سنواصل الاحتجاج".
ولا يتسنى لموقع الحرة التأكد من مصداقية ما ينشر على مواقع التواصل الاجتماعي.
ويشهد السودان احتجاجات على الغلاء منذ 19 كانون أول/ ديسمبر الماضي، ما لبثت أن تحولت إلى مطالبات باسقاط النظام الحاكم بقيادة الرئيس عمر البشير.
وقد أسفرت الاحتجاجات عن مقتل نحو ثلاثين شخصا بحسب الحكومة، مقابل احصائية أخرى تتعدى الخمسين قتيلا، بحسب جهات معارضة ومنظمات حقوقية.
وأضافت "عندما نواصل التظاهر، سينضم إلينا مزيد من الناس".
وذكر شهود عيان أن تظاهرات صغيرة جرت في مناطق أخرى من العاصمة، وأن الشرطة اعتقلت العديد من المحتجين.
ونشر ناشطون صورا لتظاهرات قالوا إنها خرجت الأحد في عدة مناطق بالسودان، منها شمبات، والمحطة الوسطى (بحري)، العباسبة، أم درمان ( شمال غرب)، وقد فرقتها الشرطة باستخدام الغاز المسيل للدموع والرصاص، حسب الناشطين.
