One woman managed to save dozens of Chicago residents during the stormy cold snap that hit the US Midwest last week.
Real estate broker Candice Penn told NBC that she was worried about the fate of homeless people on the city streets in the midst of a cold spell.
"The people were distributing blankets, food and gas cylinders to the displaced," she said, but she saw that this was not enough and that some displaced people might not be able to survive.
Tens of millions of Americans faced quasi-polar temperatures last Wednesday and Thursday paralyzing life in the Midwest, killing at least 21 people.
"No one wanted to live with them except for one hotel, Amber Inn, which allowed me to rent the rooms," Bain said.
With help from the social networking platform after the young woman wrote about the situation of displaced persons, she managed to book about 60 rooms.
"The cost was $ 70 per kilo plus a meal," she said, noting that her friends helped her move the homeless she calls "friends" to the hotel, but they were apprehensive about the young woman's presentation.
"Some of them did not want to leave the street. They were worried about leaving their belongings," she said. "Many men told the women they were going to be with us," she said, adding that she would compensate them for any lost items.
"I begged them to come with me, the temperature was 25 below zero at the time."
NBC says Benn received praise and praise as a "heroine" to save these people.

وتقول "أن بي سي" إن بين تلقت مديحا وثناء باعتبارها "بطلة" لإنقاذها هؤلاء الأشخاص.
