Trump: It is good that US policy is confusing Iran
US President Donald Trump on Friday said it was "good" that US policy would embarrass Iran.
Trump on Twitter launched a sharp attack on the media because of what he called "wrong and inaccurate coverage of Iran."
But from his point of view, the coverage had one positive effect.
"At least Iran does not know how to think, which at this time is a good thing," he said.
Trump ordered the deployment of a B-52 carrier and bombers in the Gulf last week on the pretext of threats emanating from Iran.
It also ordered Wednesday all its non-essential staff in Iraq to leave, citing an "imminent threat" posed by Iraqi factions linked to Iran.
US reports say US National Security Adviser John Bolton is pushing for a tough stance on Iran, but others in the administration are resisting this approach.
Trump himself recently said he sometimes needs to curb Bolton's momentum.
On Thursday, Trump said whether the war would break out with Iran "I do not hope so."
US partners in Iraq said last week that the level of threat did not rise significantly in the end, while congressmen called for information on Trump's administration and pushed it to escalate tensions with Tehran.

ترمب: أمر جيد أن تربك السياسة الأميركية إيران
أكّد الرئيس الأميركي دونالد ترمب الجمعة أنه "أمر جيد" أن تتسبب السياسة الأميركية بإرباك إيران.
وشن ترمب على تويتر هجوما حادا على وسائل الإعلام بسبب ما سماه "التغطية الخاطئة وغير الدقيقة لإيران".
ولكن من وجهه نظره فإنّ التغطية كان لها أثر إيجابي واحد.
وقال "على الأقل إيران لا تعرف كيف تفكر، وهو ما يعد في هذا الوقت أمرا جيدا".
وأمرت إدارة ترمب بنشر حاملة طائرات وقاذفات بي-52 في الخليج الأسبوع الماضي بذريعة تهديدات مصدرها إيران.
كذلك أمرت الأربعاء جميع موظفيها غير الأساسيين في العراق بالمغادرة، مشيرة إلى وجود "تهديد وشيك" تشكّله فصائل عراقية مرتبطة بإيران.
وتقول التقارير الأميركية إنّ مستشار الأمن القومي الأميركي جون بولتون يدفع باتجاه تبني موقف متشدد تجاه إيران، لكن آخرين في الإدارة يقاومون هذا التوجه.
وقال ترمب نفسه أخيرا إنّه يحتاج أحيانا إلى كبح اندفاع بولتون.
والخميس، قال ترمب ردا على سؤال ما إذا كانت الحرب ستندلع مع إيران "لا آمل في ذلك".
وقال شركاء الولايات المتحدة في العراق الأسبوع الفائت إنّ مستوى التهديد لم يرتفع في شكل كبير أخيرا، فيما طالب نواب في الكونغرس بالاطلاع على المعلومات التي تستند إليها إدارة ترمب ودفعتها إلى تصعيد التوتر مع طهران.
