With political negotiations stalled, tensions in Sudan are on the rise. For the European Union, the priority now is that negotiations continue intensively, in good faith, and without any threat or use of violence in order to reach a compromise on a civilian-led transition.
The African Union is showing positive continued engagement and leadership as reflected in the latest African Union Peace and Security Council communique.
As soon as such a transition takes place, the European Union stands ready to provide Sudan with economic and political support as a means to deliver on the legitimate democratic aspirations of the Sudanese people and ease the country's dire socio-economic situation.

بيان المتحدث الرسمي حول الوضع الحالي في السودان بروكسل ، 29/05/2019 - 18:50 ،
 مع توقف المفاوضات السياسية ، تزداد التوترات في السودان. بالنسبة للاتحاد الأوروبي ، فإن الأولوية الآن هي أن تستمر المفاوضات بشكل مكثف ، بحسن نية ، وبدون أي تهديد أو استخدام للعنف من أجل التوصل إلى حل وسط بشأن عملية انتقال بقيادة مدنية.يُظهر الاتحاد الأفريقي مشاركة وقيادة إيجابية مستمرة كما يتضح من البيان الأخير لمجلس السلام والأمن التابع للاتحاد الأفريقي.حالما يحدث هذا الانتقال ، فإن الاتحاد الأوروبي على استعداد لتزويد السودان بالدعم الاقتصادي والسياسي كوسيلة لتحقيق التطلعات الديمقراطية المشروعة للشعب السوداني وتخفيف الحالة الاجتماعية والاقتصادية المأساوية في البلاد.
