Palestinian official and public rejection of the seriousness of the economic workshop in Manama
"Any Palestinian who will participate in the Manama workshop will only be an agent for the Americans and Israel," said Ahmed Majdalani, the minister of social development in the Palestinian government.

Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammed Ashtiyeh said Monday that the Palestinians had not been consulted about a conference to be held next month in Bahrain to promote international investment in the West Bank and Gaza Strip.
He added: "The Council (the Council of Ministers) confirms that it was not consulted about this workshop, not in terms of input, output or timing," referring to the conference announced by Washington on Sunday, according to the agency "Reuters".
Majdalani stressed that the failure of Palestinian officials to attend the conference called by the United States in Bahrain next month, in order to attract investment to the West Bank and Gaza Strip.
On Sunday, Bahrain and the United States issued a joint statement expressing their aspiration for the workshop to be held in Bahrain and underscored the depth of their partnership and their common aspiration to revive the region's economy and give the people of the region, including the Palestinians, a chance to live a better life.
He stressed in statements to "Reuters": "There will be no Palestinian participation in the Manama workshop."
The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP) has warned of the danger of a "poisonous" economic workshop planned for Bahrain under the title "Peace for Prosperity", which was declared the first phase of the "Century Deal".

The White House announced that America will implement the first step of the century deal on the peace plan in the Middle East.

وأضاف البيان: "ستشكل ورشة العمل هذه فرصة جوهرية للقاء الحكومات والمجتمع المدني والقادة الاقتصاديين بهدف تشارك الأفكار ومناقشة الاستراتيجيات وتوفير الدعم للاستثمارات الاقتصادية المحتملة والمبادرات التي يمكن التوصل لها باتفاقية سلام".
وتابع: "ستوفر ورشة السلام من أجل الازدهار نقاشات حول طموح ورؤية قابلة للتحقيق وإطار عمل يضمن مستقبلا مزدهرا للفلسطينيين والمنطقة، بما في ذلك تعزيز إدارة الاقتصاد وتطوير رأس المال البشري وتسهيل نمو سريع للقطاع الخاص".
وأكدت الدولتان أن بحال تبني هذه الرؤية وتطبيقها، فإنها من الممكن أن تغير حياة الأشخاص وتضع المنطقة على الطريق نحو بناء مستقبل أكثر إشراقا.

وأضاف مخاطبا الصحفيين: "يؤكد المجلس (مجلس الوزراء) أنه لم يستشر حول هذه الورشة المذكورة لا من ناحية المدخلات أو المخرجات أو التوقيت"، في إشارة إلى المؤتمر الذي أعلنته واشنطن أمس الأحد، وذلك بحسب وكالة "رويترز".
وأكد مجدلاني على أن عدم حضور المسؤولين الفلسطينيين المؤتمر الذي دعت إليه الولايات المتحدة في البحرين الشهر المقبل، بهدف جذب استثمارات للضفة الغربية وقطاع غزة.
وأصدرت البحرين والولايات المتحدة الأمريكية، أمس الأحد، بيانا مشتركا عبرتا فيه عن تطلعهما لورشة العمل المزمع عقدها في البحرين، وأكدتا عمق الشراكة التي تجمعهما وسعيهما المشترك لإنعاش اقتصاد المنطقة ومنح فرصة لشعوب المنطقة، من ضمنهم الفلسطينيين، لعيش حياة أفضل.
وشدد في تصريحات لـ"رويترز": "لن تكون هناك مشاركة فلسطينية في ورشة عمل المنامة".
حذرت "الجبهة الشعبية لتحرير فلسطين" من خطورة الورشة الاقتصادية "المسمومة" المقرر عقدها بالبحرين تحت عنوان "السلام من أجل الازدهار"، والتي أُعلن أنها المرحلة الأولى من "صفقة القرن".
وجاء في البيان، أن عقد الورشة في البحرين لا يعدو كونه منصة لإعلان الانخراط الرسمي العربي بغالبيته في تبني "صفقة القرن"، وتبني رؤية نتنياهو المدعومة أمريكيا لما يُسمى السلام الاقتصادي، كحل للصراع العربي والفلسطيني مع إسرائيل، بحسب وكالة الأنباء الفلسطينية "معا".
وطالبت الجبهة الشعبية إلى موقف فلسطيني موحد يعلن رفض أي مشاركة رسمية أو غيرها في ورشة البحرين التي وصفتها بـ "المسمومة"، ومحاسبة من يخرج على هذا الموقف، ومقاومة أي نتائج تصدر عنها، كجزء من المقاومة الشاملة "لصفقة القرن" التي تستهدف تصفية القضية والحقوق الوطنية.
ووجهت "الجبهة الشعبية لتحرير فلسطين" دعوة إلى الرئاسة الفلسطينية واللجنة التنفيذية لمنظمة التحرير، لإعلان موقف واضح وصريح لا لبس فيه برفض ومقاومة ورشة البحرين.
وحثت الجبهة الشعوب العربية وقواها الوطنية والتقدمية على التحرك العاجل لحماية القضية الفلسطينية، والتصدي للأنظمة التابعة للإدارة الأمريكية ومخططاتها المعادية لمصالح شعوبها، ولسياساتها التطبيعية مع إسرائيل.
وحذرت الجبهة في بيانها "أي نظام عربي يتآمر على قضية وحقوق الشعب الفلسطيني، أو يساهم بتمرير مخططات تصفيتها".

أعلن البيت الأبيض أن أمريكا ستنفذ الخطوة الأولى من صفقة القرن بشأن خطة السلام في الشرق الأوسط.
قال البيت الأبيض في بيان، اليوم الأحد 19 مايو / آيار: "سيتم عقد ورشة اقتصادية دولية في البحرين في أواخر يونيو / حزيران المقبل، للتشجيع على الاستثمار في الأراضي الفلسطينية"، مشيرا إلى أن هذا يعد جزء أول من خطة سلام الشرق الأوسط.
وقال البيت الأبيض، حسبما نقلت "رويترز": "مؤتمر السلام من أجل الرخاء في البحرين يعقد يومي 25 و26 يونيو / حزيران المقبل، يستهدف حشد دعم من الاستثمارات الاقتصادية المحتملة التي يمكن أن يوفرها اتفاق سلام في الشرق الأوسط".
وأضافت البيت الأبيض: "من المتوقع مؤتمر البحرين بمشاركة حكومة، ومنظمات مجتمع مدني، ورجال أعمال".
يذكر أن الولايات المتحدة أعلنت عن خطة لتسوية الصراع بين فلسطين وإسرائيل وفق ما أطلق عليه تسمية "صفقة القرن" التي أعلن الفلسطينيون عن رفضهم لها، كونهم يشككون بنزاهة الطرف الأمريكي كوسيط بين الطرفين.
ولا سيما بعد اعتراف ترامب بالقدس عاصمة لإسرائيل ونقل سفارة بلاده إليها من تل أبيب، الشيء الذي اعتبره الجانب الفلسطيني خروجاً على مقررات الشرعية الدولية ومجلس الأمن، التي تعتبر القدس الشرقية منطقة محتلة من قبل إسرائيل ولا يجوز المس بطابعها القائم قبل الاحتلال أو تغيير وضعها الجغرافي تاريخيا والسكاني أيضا.
رسلت الولايات المتحدة، اليوم الاثنين، دعوة رسمية لتل أبيب للمشاركة في المؤتمر الاقتصادي المزمع عقده في البحرين الأحد المقبل، والذي يعتبر خطوة أولى في صفقة القرن الأمريكية لتسوية الصراع العربي الإسرائيلي.

وتابع "تم إرسال الدعوة في نسخة ورقية وهي في طريقها إلى إسرائيل عبر البريد الدبلوماسي. ومن المتوقع أن ترد إسرائيل بشكل إيجابي والمشاركة في المؤتمر".
وتعتزم واشنطن عقد مؤتمر اقتصادي دولي في البحرين يومي 25 و26 حزيران/يونيو المقبل؛ للتشجيع على الاستثمار في الأراضي الفلسطينية، تحت عنوان "السلام من أجل الازدهار".
ونقلت وكالة الأنباء البحرينية، مساء أمس الأحد، أن المؤتمر "فرصة محورية لاجتماع قادة الحكومات ومؤسسات المجتمع المدني وقطاع الأعمال لتبادل الأفكار والرؤى ومناقشة الاستراتيجيات لتحفيز الاستثمارات والمبادرات الاقتصادية الممكنة مع تحقيق السلام في البحرين.
بينما أكدت وزارة الخارجية الفلسطينية أنه لا يوجد سلام اقتصاديا من دون سلام سياسيا.
وقالت الخارجية، في بيان لها اليوم، "لا سلام اقتصاديا من دون سلام سياسيا مبني على أسس المرجعيات الدولية المعتمدة، ويؤسس لدولة فلسطينية مستقلة على حدود العام 1967 والقدس الشرقية عاصمة لها.
