Kuwaiti university professor seeks asylum in America
Kuwait's former law professor, Fatima al-Matar, revealed that she applied for asylum in the United States where she moved to live there with her daughter.
"I am very happy that I will start a new life in a beautiful, beautiful country that believes in the value and dignity of the human being," she said.
I went to the United States with my daughter, asked for asylum. We were placed in a special refugee center for two weeks. We were treated with all respect, respect and appreciation, but I was not allowed to use the phone or laptop until the right to asylum was decided.

كشفت الكويتية فاطمة المطر أستاذة الحقوق السابقة في جامعة الكويت أنها تقدمت بطلب لجوء إلى الولايات المتحدة حيث انتقلت للعيش هناك مع ابنتها.
ونشرت المطر تغريدة على تويتر قالت فيها: سعيدة جدا بأنني سأبدأ حياة جديدة في بلد جميل راق، يؤمن بقيمة وكرامة الإنسان". مبدية سعادتها لأن انبتها "ستحصل على فرص أفضل في الحياة".
رحلت للولايات المتحدة مع ابنتي، طلبت اللجوء، تم وضعنا في مركز خاص للاجئين لمدة أسبوعين، تم التعامل معنا بكل طيب و احترام و تقدير، لكن لم يكن مسموحاً لي باستخدام الهاتف أو "اللاب توب" إلى أن يتم البت بقرار أحقيتنا باللجوء.
خصصوا لي محامية ماهرة من دون أتعاب أو مقابل مادي!
سعيدة جداً أنني سأبدأ حياة جديدة في بلد جميل راقي يؤمن بقيمة وكرامة الإنسان، و بالحقوق و الحريات.
و سعيدة جداً أن ابنتي ستحصل على فرص أفضل في الحياة.
وأضافت "لم أعد أحتمل هذا المجتمع"، مبينة أنها أحيلت للنيابة في وقت سابق بسبب تغريدة، حيث اتهمت بالإساءة للذات الإلهية، وازدراء الأديان، وسوء استخدام الهاتف.

أحالوني للمحكمة لأنني طلبت من الله سيارة فراري وحقوق مساوية للرجل!
لم أعد أحتمل هذا المجتمع الكريه المنافق، لم أعد أؤمن بوطن يتفنن في سجن شعبه.
ونشرت المطر عدة تغريدات أوضحت فيها تفاصيل إقدامها على اللجوء إلى الولايات المتحدة، وقالت إنه "وضعت في مركز خاص للاجئين لمدة أسبوعين"، وأشارت إلى تعامل "طيب و احترام و تقدير، لكن لم يكن مسموحا لي باستخدام الهاتف أو اللاب توب" لحين البث في قرار أحقيتها باللجوء. وأكدت أن الجهات الأميركية خصصت لها محامية لمتابعة قضيتها من دون مقابل مادي.
