علن الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترامب أن الولايات المتحدة ستقوم بتصميم أنظمة ستسمح بحماية البلاد ليس من الصواريخ الباليستية فحسب، بل والصواريخ المجنحة والفرط صوتية.

وأشار ترامب إلى أن الاستراتيجية السابقة كانت تنص على حماية البلاد من الصواريخ الباليستية فقط. وأضاف أن "الولايات المتحدة ستغير استراتيجيتها لتكون قادرة على حماية نفسها من الصواريخ المجنحة والفرط صوتية أيضا".
