Bashir: ceasefire in South Kordofan until peace is achieved
Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir on Monday extended the cease-fire in South Kordofan state until peace, in a speech to a crowd of residents of the state, wearing a military uniform.
In a speech at the state center of Kadugli, Bashir pledged to work for peace in the region at any cost, and expressed the hope that the next celebration of the feast would be organized in the town of Kuda, the rebel stronghold of the movement. Amid ongoing anti-government demonstrations in Sudan, President Omar al-Bashir on Saturday addressed Sudanese youth, who constitute a large part of the protest movement.
In his speech to a conference of his party, the National Congress, Bashir expressed his "full respect for the youth who demonstrated in search of better conditions and to achieve economic demands," adding that "the exit of young people in this direction is justified."
He added that the realization of young people's demands "is not sabotage," accusing "some political parties and enemies of the homeland of the saboteurs" exploiting youth demonstrations, stressing that "access to power in place of the ballot box."
The Sudanese president called the young people "the future of Sudan" and promised that the state "will meet their just demands and solve their problems."
"The enemies of the country want to distract Sudan and its people, as well as the people of Yemen and Syria," he said. "This will never happen."
Sudan has witnessed since December 19 protests against the deterioration of living conditions and demand the overthrow of the regime, including several cities including the capital, and resulted in the fall of 24 demonstrators, according to the latest government statistics, while Amnesty International says that the number of victims at least 40.

البشير: وقف إطلاق النار في جنوب كردفان حتى يتحقق السلام
أعلن الرئيس السوداني عمر البشير اليوم الاثنين عن تمديد وقف إطلاق النار في ولاية جنوب كردفان لحين تحقيق السلام، وذلك في كلمة ألقاها أمام حشد من سكان الولاية، مرتديا زيا عسكريا.
وتعهد البشير في كلمة ألقاها في مركز الولاية مدينة كادوقلي بمناسبة الذكرى الـ26 لـ"عيد الشهيد" في البلاد، بالعمل على تحقيق السلام في المنطقة بأي ثمن، معربا عن أمله في أن ينظم الاحتفال المقبل بهذا العيد داخل مدينة كاودا، معقل المتمردين الموالين لـ"الحركة الشعبية لتحرير السودان"، بعد تحقيق السلام في الولاية.
وقال: "أعلن من كادوقلي عن تمديد وقف إطلاق النار حتي يتحقق السلام في جنوب كردفان".
وذكر أن الدولة السودانية تبذل مساع من أجل توفير فرص التعليم لتتبعها فرص أخرى، ووعد بالعمل على منح المواطن فرصة للإنتاج ودعم الاقتصاد و"توفير خدمات التعليم والصحة والعلاج لأبناء الشهداء وتوفير وسائل إنتاج لأجل العيش الكريم لهم".
ومنذ عام 2011 لا تزال الولاية الواقعة عند الحدود مع دولة جنوب السودان مشهدا للنزاع المسلح بين قوات الحكومة السودانية و "الحركة الشعبية لتحرير السودان".
وجاءت تصريحات البشير في وقت تشهد فيه البلاد موجة احتجاجات شعبية معارضة للرئيس السوداني.
بم وعد البشير الشباب والمتظاهرين؟
وسط استمرار المظاهرات المناهضة للحكومة في السودان، توجه الرئيس عمر البشير أمس السبت بكلمة إلى الشباب السوداني الذي يشكل جزء كبيرا من الحراك الاحتجاجي.
وفي خطابه أمام مؤتمر لحزبه "المؤتمر الوطني"، عبر البشير عن "احترامه الكامل للشباب الذي تظاهر بحثا عن أوضاع أفضل ولتحقيق مطالب اقتصادية"، مضيفا أن "خروج الشباب في هذا المنحى مبرر".
وأضاف أن تحقيق مطالب الشباب "لا يتم بالتخريب"، متهما "بعض الأحزاب السياسية وأعداء الوطن من المخربين" باستغلال التظاهرات الشبابية، مشددا على أن "الوصول للسلطة مكانه صندوق الانتخابات".
ووصف الرئيس السوداني الشباب بأنهم "مستقبل السودان"، ووعد بأن الدولة "ستحقق لهم مطالبهم العادلة وستحل لهم مشاكلهم".
وشدد البشير "على ضرورة الدفاع عن البلاد وحفظ أمنها ووحدتها واستقرارها وسلامة أراضيها وعدم السماح بتحويل الشعب السوداني للاجئين"، محذرا من أن "أعداء الوطن يريدون تشتيت السودان وشعبه كما شتتوا شعوب اليمن وسوريا"، وأضاف: "هذا لن يحدث أبدا".
ويشهد السودان منذ 19 ديسمبر الماضي احتجاجات منددة بتدهور الأوضاع المعيشية ومطالبة بإسقاط النظام، عمت عدة مدن بينها العاصمة، وأسفرت عن سقوط 24 متظاهرا، وفق آخر الإحصاءات الحكومية، فيما تقول منظمة العفو الدولية إن عدد الضحايا لا يقل عن 40.
