أعلنت المتحدثة باسم وزارة الخارجية الروسية ماريا زاخاروفا، اليوم الجمعة، تعليقا على العقوبات الأمريكية الجديدة ضد روسيا أنه في السنوات الأخيرة حاول المبادرون بفرض عقوبات على روسيا كثيرا ولكنهم فشلوا .
موسكو ونقل موقع الوزارة عن زاخاروفا قولها: "في السنوات الأخيرة، حاول المبادرون بفرض العقوبات على روسيا الكثير، لكنهم فشلوا. إن الطريق في إجبار روسيا على تغيير سياستها الخارجية والداخلية، والتخلي عن مصالحها الخاصة لصالح إرضاء مطالبات الولايات المتحدة بالسيطرة على العالم، قد فشل فشلاً ذريعاً... واشنطن في كل مرة تعرض حالة عجزها".

وأوضح: "أعتقد أن هذا جزء من الظروف السياسية الداخلية. إنه لأمر محزن أن تتم التضحية ببقايا ما يسمى بالشراكة الروسية الأمريكية بسبب مطالب أولئك الذين يستخدمون العلاقات مع روسيا كأداة للصراع السياسي الداخلي في الولايات المتحدة".
وكان مسؤول كبير في الإدارة الأمريكية، قد أعلن اليوم الجمعة، أن واشنطن فرضت حزمة ثانية من العقوبات ضد روسيا على خلفية قضية سكريبال، لأن موسكو "لم تقدم الضمانات المطلوبة".
وأفادت صحيفة "بوليتيك" في وقت سابق، نقلا عن مصدرين في الإدارة الأمريكية، أن رئيس الولايات المتحدة، دونالد ترامب، وقع مرسوما يقضي بفرض حزمة ثانية من العقوبات ضد روسيا فيما يتعلق بقضية تسمم ضابط الاستخبارات الروسي السابق، سيرغي سكريبال وابنته يوليا.
يذكر أن الشرطة البريطانية عثرت على الضابط السابق في الاستخبارات العسكرية الروسية، سيرغي سكريبال، الذي عمل لصالح الاستخبارات البريطانية وابنته يوليا، مغما عليهما عند مركز تجاري في مدينة سالزبوري البريطانية في الـ4 من مارس/آذار الماضي.
ويوجه الجانب البريطاني، الاتهامات إلى روسيا بتورطها في تسميم سكريبال وابنته، بمادة شالة للأعصاب "آ-234".
ومن جانبها، نفت روسيا مرارا علاقتها بهذا الحادث، مؤكدة أنها تخلصت من كل الأسلحة الكيميائية لديها، وبإشراف من منظمة حظر استخدام الأسلحة الكيميائية.
