اندلاع مظاهرات حاشدة في المدن السودانية
تشهد كل من بورتسودان والخرطوم ومدينة عطبرة مظاهرات جماهيرية حاشدة ضد الغلاء والضغوط الاقتصادية. وتبادل ناشطون على وسائل التواصل الاجتماعي صور للتظاهرات الجماهيرية الحاشدة وأرفقوا معها رسائل تطالب قوات الجيش والأمن والشرطة بعدم إطلاق النار على المتظاهرين تحت شعار : الشرطة والشعب هم واحد.
وتعتبر مدينة عطبرة الواقعة شمال العاصمة الخرطوم والتي تعرف باسم مدينة الحديد والنار نسبة لتاريخها النضالي العمالي منذ فترة الاحتلال البريطاني للسودان حيث كانت مقرا لرئاسة سكة حديد السودان، وهي من المدن التي تتميز بوجود طبقة عمالية كبيرة بها إضافة لنشاط تاريخي للحزب الشيوعي السوداني وكانت نفس المدينة قد خرجت في تظاهرات ضد الحكم العسكر الأول وحكم نميري. ومن المرجح أن تمتد التظاهرات إلى مدن أخرى وسط دعوات للخروج ضد الوضع العام الذي تشهده البلاد بعد وصلت نسبة التضخم إلى 63.9%
