Iran's nuclear agreement in the Security Council
 US Secretary of State Pompeiro says a number of European capitals are in the range of Iranian missiles ... Washington called on the international community not to lift the arms embargo on Iran and re-impose previous restrictions on its missile program, pointing out that a number of European capitals are in the range of Tehran missiles.
"It is clear that the activity of the Iranian regime in ballistic missiles has grown since the conclusion of the nuclear agreement," US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo told a UN Security Council session on Iran.
Pompeo accused Iran of violating UN Security Council resolutions and seeking to build strong missile forces, stressing that the United States would not tolerate it.
He pointed out that the range of Iranian missiles reaches more than two thousand kilometers, adding that a number of European capitals including Athens, Sofia and Bucharest are in the range of Iranian missiles
"The UN Security Council should not lift the arms embargo on Iran in 2020," Pompeo said, accusing it of supporting al Qaeda and the Taliban, arming terrorists in Lebanon and Shiite militias in Iraq, fueling the conflicts in Syria and Yemen, Pointing out that the United States has evidence of Iran's supply of missiles to the Houthis
Pompeo said Iran's activity was a threat to the region. He stressed that the United States is seeking to re-impose international restrictions prior to Iran's missile program
Pompeo also called on the UN Security Council to impose procedures to inspect and intercept Iranian ships at ports and open water to prevent Iran from trading arms
The US minister said that pressure on Iran could not be alleviated until there were "significant changes" in Iranian policies and that the United States would continue its efforts to create an "alliance of responsible nations designed to counter the reckless activity of the Iranian regime" with regard to ballistic missiles
Russia's ambassador to the United Nations, Vasily Nibenzia, reiterated his country's full support for the Secretary-General's call for maintaining Iran's nuclear agreement, stressing Moscow's refusal to link the agreement to Tehran's missile program
"We fully support the UN Secretary General's assessment in his report that the US decision to withdraw from the joint comprehensive plan of action and to re-impose unilateral sanctions on Iran represents a serious challenge that does not contribute to the achievement of the goals set," Nebenzia said at a UN Security Council session on Iran on Wednesday.  الاتفاق النووي الايراني في مجلس الامن
 وزير الخارجية الامريكي بومبيو يقول : عدد من العواصم الأوروبية في مرمى الصواريخ الإيرانية ...دعت واشنطن المجتمع الدولي لعدم رفع حظر توريد الأسلحة إلى إيران وإعادة فرض القيود السابقة على برنامجها للصواريخ، مشيرا إلى أن عددا من العواصم الأوروبية باتت في مرمى صواريخ طهران.
وقال وزير الخارجية الأمريكي مايك بومبيو خلال جلسة لمجلس الأمن الدولي حول إيران: "من الواضح أن نشاط النظام الإيراني في مجال الصواريخ البالستية تنامى منذ إبرام الاتفاق النووي".
واتهم بومبيو إيران بانتهاك قرارات مجلس الأمن الدولي والسعي إلى بناء قوات صاروخية قوية، مؤكدا أن الولايات المتحدة لن تتهاون مع ذلك.
وأشار إلى أن مدى الصواريخ الإيرانية يصل إلى أكثر من ألفي كيلومتر، مضيفا أن عددا من العواصم الأوروبية بينها أثينا وصوفيا وبوخارست باتت في مرمى الصواريخ الإيرانية.
وقال بومبيو إن "مجلس الأمن الدولي لا يجب أن يرفع حظر توريد الأسلحة لإيران في عام 2020"، واتهمها بدعم "القاعدة" و"طالبان" و"تسليح إرهابيين" في لبنان و"المليشيات الشيعية" في العراق، وتأجيج النزاعين في سوريا واليمن، مشيرا إلى أن لدى الولايات المتحدة أدلة على توريد إيران الصواريخ للحوثيين.
واعتبر بومبيو أن نشاط إيران يشكل خطرا على دول المنطقة. وأكد أن الولايات المتحد تسعى لإعادة فرض القيود الدولية السابقة على برنامج إيران للصواريخ.
ودعا  بومبيو مجلس الأمن كذلك لفرض إجراءات لتفتيش واعتراض سفن إيرانية في الموانئ والمياه المفتوحة لمنع إيران من تجارة الأسلحة.
وأكد الوزير الأمريكي أنه لا يمكن التخفيف من الضغط على إيران قبل أن تكون هناك "تغيرات ملموسة" في السياسات الإيرانية، وأن الولايات المتحدة ستواصل الجهود لإنشاء "تحالف من الدول المسؤولة المصممة على مواجهة النشاط المتهور للنظام الإيراني" فيما يتعلق بالصواريخ البالستية.
مندوب روسيا فاسيلي نيبينزيا : نؤيد بالكامل دعوة أمين عام الأمم المتحدة للحفاظ على الاتفاق النووي الإيراني ...أكد مندوب روسيا لدى الأمم المتحدة  دعم بلاده الكامل لدعوة أمين عام المنظمة إلى الحفاظ على اتفاق إيران النووي، مشددا على رفض موسكو ربط الاتفاق ببرنامج طهران الصاروخي.
وقال نيبينزيا، خلال جلسة لمجلس الأمن الدولي حول إيران عقدت اليوم الأربعاء: "نؤيد بالكامل تقييم الأمين العام للأمم المتحدة الوارد في تقريره بأن قرار الولايات المتحدة الانسحاب من خطة العمل الشاملة المشتركة وإعادة فرض عقوباتها الأحادية على إيران يمثلان تحديا خطيرا لا يسهم في تحقيق الأهداف المحددة في الخطة وقرار مجلس الأمن الدولي رقم 2231".
وأضاف: "ننضم إلى دعوة الأمين العام للأمم المتحدة إلى ضمان الحفاظ على هذه الاتفاقية الفريدة من نوعها التي تحظى بأهمية مميزة لتحقيق الأمن على الصعيدين الإقليمي والدولي".
