Iraq is on the brink of a mass popular uprising, after being fiercely confronted by the authorities, that shook Baghdad and spread to the country's southern provinces.

 إن العراق على شفا انتفاضة شعبية حاشدة، بعد مواجهتها بشراسة من قبل السلطات، هزت بغداد، وامتدت للمحافظات الجنوبية في البلاد.
 إن تقييد الإنترنت في العراق، لم  ولن يحل دون خروج المتظاهرين، ولكنه أدى إلى أن يكون أقل تركيزا في المناطق البعيدة عن بغداد.
ولفت إلى أن المتظاهرين في مدينة الصدر، ذات الأغلبية الشيعية شرقي بغداد، هاجموا مقر الإدارة البلدية وأحرقوا مقر حزب الدعوة الموالي لإيران.
المهم في هذا السياق الاشارة  إلى شهادات الأطباء، أن 600 شخص أصيبوا بالرصاص المطاطي، الذي أطلق على الرقبة والصدر.
وقال إن معظم المتظاهرين تقل أعمارهم عن العشرين، ولهذا لا يتذكرون الفترة الزمنية التي سبقت سقوط صدام حسين عام 2003. فالواقع يقول ان المظاهرات تلقائية فالمظاهرات لا يوجد لها قيادة محددة، وهذا لايعني أن الحكومة لا تجد من تتحدث إليه إذا رغبت في ذلك فالوقائع ان هذه الثورة انجبتها ظروف موضوعية وقادة على افراز قيادتها فالتجاهل الرسمي سيطور الحراك الثوري لفعل اكبر من تصورات القوى المسيطرة الراهنة.أن المتظاهرين يلقون تأييدا كبيرا من جميع أطياف المجتمع، من المناطق الشيعية الفقيرة شرقي بغداد، إلى الأطباء والمهندسين الذين يرسلون رسائل دعم وتأييد.

لماذا رفعت الجماهير الشعبية صورة الساعدي؟

أثار قرار نقل عبدالوهاب الساعدي، القائد العسكري الرفيع والذي يحظى باحترام شعبي واسع في العراق، الغضب في أوساط الشارع العراقي خصوصا بعد التقارير التي تحدثت عن أن فصيلين تابعين لميليشيات الحشد الشعبي مارسا ضغوطاً على رئيس الوزراء العراقي عادل عبدالمهدي، بإيعاز من إيران، مما تسبب بإبعاده من قوات مكافحة الإرهاب ونقله إلى وزارة الدفاع العراقية، وهي القضية التي تابعتها قناتا "العربية" و"الحدث" بشكلٍ مفصل.
المتظاهرون رفعوا صورا للقائد الساعدي، وعبروا عن دعمهم له في إشارة ضمنية إلى أنه بات يمتلك دعما شعبيا كبيرا في هذه الاحتجاجات العفوية.
ذه الفرضية طرحتها وكالة "أسوشيتد برس" Associated Press، في تقرير مطول، حيث وصفت التظاهرات بأنها تحدٍّ غير مسبوق للحكومة الهشة هناك، وأشارت إلى أنه على الرغم من أن الكثير من المتظاهرين أصحاب دوافع اقتصادية ويطالبون بتغيير الحكومة بسبب فشلها في تحسين الخدمات العامة وخلق الوظائف للعاطلين، إلا أن الكثيرين أيضا حملوا ملصقات لقائد شعبي للجيش - قائد مكافحة الإرهاب في العراق الفريق عبدالوهاب الساعدي - الذي أثارت إقالته مؤخراً من منصبه جدلا واسعا هناك، وألقى البعض باللوم فيه على السياسيين الذين تدعمهم إيران في البلاد.

ويضيف التقرير: لقد قام رئيس الوزراء عبدالمهدي بطرده من منصبه الأسبوع الماضي ونقله إلى وزارة الدفاع، وينسب العراقيون إلى حد كبير للساعدي قيادة الحرب ضد تنظيم "داعش"، وبحسب التقرير، عبر الكثيرون عن غضبهم من هذه الخطوة غير المبررة.
