Cavusoglu Accuses US of Supplying PKK/YPG 'Terrorist Organization' With 'Sophisticated' Weapons
Turkey's Foreign Minister commented on Turkey's operation in northern Syria while speaking to reporters in Ankara.
Turkey's Minister of Foreign Affairs Mevlut Cavusoglu accused Washington of supplying "sophisticated and heavy" weapons to Kurdish People's Protection Units (YPG) and the armed wing of Kurdistan's Workers' Party, which he characterized as "terrorist organization."
"And the majority of them have been supplied by the U.S. even three days ago. Trucks full of weapons were supplied by the U.S. to this terrorist organization," he said.
He mocked Washington for supporting "this terrorist organization" instead of Turkey, a US' "NATO ally."
Cavusglu vowed to take care of Daesh prisoners being held in detention camps in Northern Syria after the area is liberated of Kurdish presence.
"Our responsibility is to make sure that they will be held accountable for what they did. And we will make sure that they will not be released," Cavusoglu said.

علق وزير الخارجية التركي على العملية التركية في شمال سوريا أثناء حديثه للصحفيين في أنقرة.
اتهم وزير الخارجية التركي ميفلوت كافوسوغلو واشنطن بتزويد وحدات حماية الشعب الكردي (YPG) والجناح المسلح لحزب العمال الكردستاني بأسلحة "متطورة وثقيلة" ، والتي وصفها بأنها "منظمة إرهابية".
وقال "لقد تم تزويد الغالبية العظمى منهم من قبل الولايات المتحدة حتى قبل ثلاثة أيام. لقد زودت الولايات المتحدة بهذه الأسلحة شاحنات مليئة بالأسلحة".
سخر من واشنطن لدعمها "هذه المنظمة الإرهابية" بدلاً من تركيا ، حليف الولايات المتحدة "الناتو".
تعهد كافوسغلو برعاية سجناء داعش المحتجزين في معسكرات الاعتقال في شمال سوريا بعد تحرير المنطقة من الوجود الكردي.

وقال كافوسوغلو "مسؤوليتنا هي التأكد من أنهم سيحاسبون على ما فعلوه. وسنتأكد من عدم إطلاق سراحهم."
