In the past it was said that the self-confidence does not need to praise people no matter what their affair ,, and frankly the writer and poet / Ahmed Omar Sheikh does not need to praise or praise for his role in the great transition to Eritrean literature written in Arabic to the world ... قديما قيل من وثق بنفسه لا يحتاج إلى مدح النّاس مهما علا شأنهم,,وبكل صراحة الأديب والشاعر/ احمد عمر شيخ  لايحتاح الى مدح أوثناء لما يقوم به من دور كبير في الإنتقال بالادب الإرتري المكتوب بالعربية إلى العالمية...فالرجل ومنذ التسعينيات من القرن الماضي  ظل ولايزال منهمكاً  بكل مالديه من ملكات أدبية في إبراز الوجه المشرق لوطنه إرتريا( بقومياتها التسع وبجبالها ووديانها وتضاريسها ..ببرها وبحرها وفضاءها ....بتاريخها النضالي قديما وحديثاً...الخ)للعالم بصورة عامة وللقارئ العربي بصورة خاصة ..فقصائده الشعرية المفعمة بالحيوية والنابعة من الوجدان تجبر المرء للتأمل في مفرداتها والغوص في معانيها السامية..ليجد نفسه وقد إتضحت له عوالم هذا الوطن الجميل ..الذي ظلت تتجاهله النخب العربية لأسباب قد تكون في إعتقادي غير واقعية .
ليس هذا فحسب فإسهامات الكاتب والاديب/ أحمد عمر شيخ لاتقتصر على الشعر وحده وإنما تتعداه الى عالم الرواية ,,فالرجل قدم للمكتبة الإرترية العديد من الروايات والتي كانت آخرها رواية "الهش" التي إتسمت بالواقعية الى حد كبير,,,
إن إقدام اذاعة البي بي سي على إفراد مساحة في برنامجها العربي  عالم الكتب  للأديب والشاعر/ احمد عمر شيخ وحوارها معه حول  الرواية الإرتيرية والمشهد الثقافي في السودان كان لفتة بارعة تستحق  الثناء والتقدير,فاللقاء سلط الضوء على الأدب  الإرتيري المكتوب باللغة العربية ،، وكشف عن إبداع ظل مغيباً عن الساحة الادبية لأسباب غير منطقية,كما أوضح  اللقاء أهمية ان تكتب وأنت تعيش الواقع كماهو   لحظة بلحظة ,وهذا في إعتقادي ما جعل من روائع الأديب والشاعر الإرتري /أحمد عمر شيخ (شعراً ورواية ) تشق طريقها الى العالمية وتجد هذا الإهتمام الكبير الذي يليق بها.
فالتحية لإذاعة البى بى سي على هذه المبادرة الجميلة والشكر أجزله  للكاتب والشاعر/ احمد عمر شيخ على تلك الدرر التي تابعناها في الحوار .
