A remarkable piece of information by the British journalist and historian in the Middle East, Diana Dark, said that Paris' most famous Notre Dame Cathedral is mainly designed for the city of Idlib.
According to Dark, the design of the twin towers dates back to the "heart of the almond church" in Idlib, which was built of limestone in the middle of the fifth century AD, and dates back to the period of the Roman era.
The words of Darak, translated by Jalal Khayat to Orient Net, confirmed that the Crusaders saw the designs of the church in the twelfth century, including its three sections, its central courtyard and the three corridors inside, and transferred these designs to Europe.
Even the Gothic arch that distinguishes Notre Dame Cathedral, and most of the great European cathedrals, is essentially an Islamic architectural design, first seen at the Ibn Tulun Mosque in Cairo.
The windows of the pink cathedral go back to the Umayyad palace in Khirbat al-Mufajjar.
The British historian, according to Orient, explains that the architectural design of the cathedral in general was inspired by various regions of the world, so the cathedral symbolizes human heritage in general.
The cathedral of Notre Dame was hit by a fire two days ago (April 15) while undergoing restoration work, destroying two-thirds of its roofs and towers.
The name "Notre Dame" in Arabic means "Our Lady of the Virgin", a medieval Catholic cathedral located in the heart of historic Paris, and visited by more than 12 million visitors a year.
It is one of the best examples of French Gothic architecture. For centuries, the kings of France were crowned. Even Napoleon Bonaparte was crowned as Emperor of France.
The celebration of the liberation of Paris from Nazi occupation in 1944 was also held in the cathedral.
The Church was associated with one of the most famous novels in the world: "The Notre Dame" by the famous French writer Victor Hugo.
The cathedral was built on the ruins of the first Christian church in Paris, St. Stephen's Basilica, which was built on the ruins of the Jopteralgalo-Roman temple.

معلومة لافتة قدَّمتها الصحافية والمؤرّخة البريطانية المختصّة في الشرق الأوسط، ديانا دارك، حيث قالت إنَّ كاتدرائية نوتردام الأشهر في باريس يعود تصميمها أساساً إلى مدينة إدلب.
وبحسب دارك فإن تصميم البرجين التوأمين يعود إلى “كنيسة قلب لوزة” في إدلب، والتي بُنيت من الحجر الجيري في منتصف القرن الخامس الميلادي، وتعود إلى فترة العهد الروماني.
كلام دارك، الذي ترجمه جلال خيَّاط لموقع “أورينت نت”، أكَّد أنَّ الصليبيين شاهدوا تصاميم الكنيسة في القرن الثاني عشر، بما في ذلك أقسامها الثلاثة وصحنها المركزي والممرات الثلاثة في داخلها، وقاموا بنقل هذه التصاميم إلى أوروبا.
حتى القوس القوطي الذي يميّز كاتدرائية نوتردام، ومعظم الكاتدرائيات الأوروبية الكبيرة، هو في الأساس تصميم معماري إسلامي، شوهد للمرَّة الأولى في مسجد ابن طولون” في القاهرة.
أما نوافذ الكاتدرائية الوردية، فتعود إلى القصر الأموي في خربة المفجر.
وتشرح المؤرّخة البريطانية، بحسب ما ترجمته “أورينت”، أن التصميم المعماري للكاتدرائية بشكل عام تمَّ استيحاؤه من مختلف مناطق العالم، لذلك فالكاتدرائية ترمز إلى التراث الإنساني عموماً.
وتعرَّضت كاتدرائية نوتردام إلى حريق هائل قبل يومين (15 نيسان الجاري) أثناء خضوعها لأعمال الترميم، ما أدَّى إلى تدمير ثُلثَي الأسقف والأبراج فيها.
ويعني اسم “نوتردام” بالعربية “سيّدتنا العذراء” وهي كاتدرائية كاثوليكية تعود إلى القرون الوسطى، وتقع في قلب باريس التاريخي، ويزورها أكثر من 12 مليون زائر سنوياً.
وتُعتبر أحد أفضل الأمثلة على فنّ العمارة القوطية الفرنسية. ولقرونٍ كان يجري فيها تتويج ملوك فرنسا. وحتى نابليون بونابرت تمَّ تتويجه فيها كإمبراطور لفرنسا.
وكذلك جرى في الكاتدرائية إقامة الاحتفال بتحرُّر باريس من الاحتلال النازي سنة 1944.
وارتبطت بالكنيسة إحدى أشهر الروايات في العالم: “أحدب نوتردام” للكاتب الفرنسي الشهير فيكتور هيغو.
وقامت الكاتدرائية على أنقاض بناء أول كنيسة مسيحية في باريس وهي “بازيليك القدّيس استيفان” التي كانت بدورها مبنيةً على أنقاض معبد جوبتيرالغالو-روماني.
