Sisi bless gas agreement with Israel: "Jibna Gul"
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi said that Egypt has achieved a major achievement in concluding the gas agreement with Israel and is on its way to becoming a regional energy center
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi expressed his joy at his first comment on the huge gas deal signed with Israel, describing the move as a "goal" in a football game. "We are Jaba Gul," Sissi said in Arabic, stressing that the agreement is an important step to turn Egypt into a regional energy center.

The Egyptian president, according to Egyptian websites, said that private companies were allowed to import natural gas from Israel and other countries in the region, such as Cyprus and Lebanon, and to accelerate the Egyptian oil facilities with the aim of exporting it again. He stressed that this process will return to Egypt material benefit.
"Egypt has put its foot in the largest economy of the Mediterranean and has become a regional center for energy in the Middle East, and this has many positives," he said.
Israel and Egypt signed a historic gas agreement a few days ago, under which Israel will issue gas to Egypt over 10 years in a $ 15 billion deal. The two sides are currently considering any gas pipeline that will transport the gas from the Tamar and Levitan fields. One of the proposals is through the Jordanian gas pipeline.

"The agreement will bring billions of dollars to the state treasury, which will contribute to strengthening security, the economy and regional relations," he said.

أعرب الرئيس المصري، عبد الفتاح السيسي، عن فرحته في أول تعليق له على اتفاقية الغاز الضخمة التي وقعت مع إسرائيل، واصفا الخطوة بأنها "هدفا" في لعبة كرة قدم. "إحنا جبا جول" قال السيسي بالعامية، مشددا أن الاتفاقية هي خطوة هامة لتحويل مصر إلى مركز إقليمي للطاقة.

وأوضح الرئيس المصري حسبما ورد في المواقع المصرية أنه سمح للشركات الخاصة بأن تستورد الغاز الطبيعي من إسرائيل ودول أخرى في المنطقة مثل قبرص ولبنان، وتعاجله في المنشآت البترولية المصرية بهدف تصديره مرة أخرى. وأكد أن هذه العملية ستعود على مصر بالفائدة المادية.
وأضاف أن "مصر وضعت قدمها في أكبر اقتصاديات المتوسط وأصبحت مركزًا إقليميا للطاقة في الشرق الأوسط وهذا له إيجابيات كثيرة جدا. أنا عارف إنكم بتسألوا إزاي افتتحنا حقل ظهر وقلنا عندنا اكتفاء ذاتي وبعدين بنستورد من إسرائيل. ولكن الحقيقة عكس ذلك تماما".
يذكر أن إسرائيل ومصر وقتعا اتفاقية غاز تاريخية قبل أيام بموجبها ستصدر إسرائيل الغاز لمصر على مدى 10سنوات بصفقة قيمتها 15 مليار دولار. ويدرس الطرفان في الراهن بأي أنبوب غاز سيتم نقل الغاز من حقلي "تمار ولفيتان"، وواحدة من الاقتراحات هي عبر أنبوب الغاز الأردني.
وكان رئيس الحكومة الإسرائيلي قد علّق على الاتفاقية بنشر فيديو خاص وصف فيه الاتفاقية بأنها يوم عيد بالنسبة لإسرائيل قائلا "الاتفاق سيدخل إلى خزينة الدولة مليارات الدولارات ما سيسهم بتعزيز الأمن والاقتصاد والعلاقات الإقليمية".
