India has declined to buy them and does not have sufficient safety standards .. US magazine tracking weaknesses in Russian stealth aircraft

The US-based National Interest magazine said Friday (February 23, 2018) that Russian stealth planes, known as the Soho-T-50 fighter jets, are not equipped as Russia has declared them, and deploying them in war places like Syria is a big adventure.

The deployment of T-50s in Syria will be interesting to see how the Kremlin manages the matter, the magazine said. In November 2017, Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered most of the Russian military forces in Syria to withdraw, two years after Moscow intervened in the ongoing regional war.

Putin is lying!

Despite Putin's order, two T-50s appeared in Syria, with a Russian Air Force A-50 radar aircraft, four Su-25 attack aircraft and four Su-35 fighter jets. The warplanes arrived in Syria after weeks of intensive air strikes by Russian planes, targeting areas controlled by the opposition forces in Idlib and the eastern Ghouta, according to the American magazine.

In other words, the deployment of T-50s could be further proof that Putin's order to withdraw was a lie.

In any event, the presence of the two stealth fighter jets in Syria raises other questions.

According to the American magazine, the T-50 program has suffered a number of long delays since the first takeoff of the aircraft model in 2010. At the time, Russian officials announced that this category will be subject to acceptance tests in 2013, and will enter operational service in 2015, which is did not happen. By 2013, the plan was for the T-50 to enter production in late 2016.

To this end, the TECHEIRF Institute for Scientific Research and Design of Instruments in 2016 completed the design of seven N036 radars, designed for T-50s, three of which were fixed on the models T-50-3, T-50-4 and T-50-5 . They were all in the "reduced setting" mode, meaning they had only a front antenna and lacked side matrices. The T-50 fire control system was not tested, and there were no tests of live weapons for this category, according to the American magazine.

One by one

By contrast, the T-50 suffered from failure one by one. There were serious structural problems in most of the first five models, such as engine failure and accidents in cockpit glass. India has agreed to co-finance the T-50s, but well-informed Indian sources have reported that the T-50 engines are unreliable, that their radar is ineligible, and that its design is poorly designed, according to the American magazine.

Not surprisingly, Moscow and Sukhoi failed to agree on more Indian funding. The Indians instead requested information from the United States about the F-35 stealth fighter.

Sukhoi rushed to send the five T-50 models of the 929 Air Force State Air Force Base at Aktobeinsk in September 2016 to be tested by Russian military pilots. It is commonly reported that in the same year, a T-50 aircraft fired an unknown type of weapon from one of its domestic stations for the first time. However, no test has been confirmed. Only primary models carrying unguided bombs or R-77 air-to-air missiles appeared on the outer loading points.

Insufficient electronics

According to the American magazine in early 2017, Sukhoi began developing a completely new set of aviation electronics for the T-50 category called IMA BK. The original avionics group being developed since 2004 has proved inadequate. The IMA Bk group will likely wait years to enter the service.

Later in 2017, Mikhail Bogusian, chief executive of United Aircraft Company, the conglomerate controlled by Sukhoi and all the Russian aviation industry, left office. Bogosian was the only company manager with skills in industrial management. To say that this is the cause of the collapse of the entire T-50 project would be to minimize it. In late 2017, the Russian Defense Ministry reduced its T-50 purchases to only 12 aircraft at the moment, according to the American magazine.

These twelve models are supposed to be subject to further research and development ... by 2025. Given that Sukhoi has already collected at least 10 of them, this means that production has stopped.

Great gamble

The US magazine said that by deploying the Kremlin for alleged T-50 jets, it was gambling with precious initial models as well as pilots' lives. The Kremlin has sent two fighters supposedly "ghostly" to an active war zone, but they have no concealing capability at all. Instead they have inadequate and incomplete sensors, fire fighting systems and incomplete self-protection kits. They do not have integrated operational aviation electronics, Operating with unreliable engines, barely passing any test to separate weapons except for two types of unguided bombs, and lacking any operational weapons other than its 30 mm internal guns.

Moreover, the aircraft will be led by pilots lacking any training or military tactics suitable for this category, and can not rely entirely on aeronautics and other systems.

بوتين يكذب!

وعلى الرغم من أمر بوتين، ظهرت طائرتان من طراز تي-50 في سوريا، مع طائرة رادار من طراز إيه-50 تابعة لسلاح الجو الروسي، وأربع طائرات هجومية من طراز سو-25، وأربع مقاتلات من طراز سو-35. وصلت الطائرات الحربية إلى سوريا بعد أسابيع من الضربات الجوية المكثفة التي قامت بها الطائرات الروسية، لاستهداف المناطق التي تسيطر عليها القوات المعارضة للنظام في إدلب والغوطة الشرقية، بحسب المجلة الأميركية.

وعلى أية حال، فإن وجود المقاتلتين الشبحيتين في سوريا يثير تساؤلاتٍ أخرى.

وبحسب المجلة الأميركية فقد عانى برنامج طائرات تي-50 من عددٍ من التأجيلات الطويلة منذ الإقلاع الأول لذلك الطراز من الطائرات في عام 2010. وقتها أعلن مسؤولون روس أنَّ هذه الفئة سوف تخضع لتجارب القبول في عام 2013، وستدخل الخدمة التشغيلية في عام 2015، وهو ما لم يحدث. فبحلول عام 2013، كانت الخطة هي أن تدخل طائرات تي-50 عملية الإنتاج في أواخر عام 2016.

فشل تلو الآخر

وعلى النقيض من ذلك، عانت فئة تي-50 من فشلٍ تلو الآخر. إذ ظهرت مشكلات هيكلية خطيرة في غالبية النماذج الخمسة الأولى، كتعطل المحرك وحوادث في زجاج قمرة القيادة. وكانت الهند قد وافقت على المشاركة في تمويل طائرات تي-50، لكنَّ مصادر هندية مطلعة ذكرت أنَّ محركات تي-50 لا يمكن الاعتماد عليها، وأنَّ رادارها غير مؤهل، وسمات التخفي بها سيئة التصميم، بحسب المجلة الأميركية.

ومما لا يثير الدهشة، فشلت موسكو وشركة سوخوي في الاتفاق على مزيدٍ من التمويل الهندي. وطلب الهنود بدلاً من ذلك معلوماتٍ من الولايات المتحدة بشأن مقاتلة الشبح إف-35.

أسرعت شركة سوخوي في إرسال النماذج الخمسة المتاحة من فئة تي-50 لقاعدة مركز طيران الدولة للقوات الجوية رقم 929 في أكتوبينسك، في سبتمبر/أيلول 2016، ليختبرها الطيارون العسكريون الروس. وأُشيع أنَّه في نفس العام أطلقت طائرةٌ من طراز تي-50 سلاحاً من نوعٍ غير معروف من واحدةٍ من محطاتها الداخلية للمرة الأولى. ومع ذلك، لم يتم تأكيد أي اختبار. وظهرت النماذج الأولية فقط تحمل قنابل غير موجهة أو صواريخ جو-جو من طراز آر-77 على أماكن التحميل الخارجية.

وبحسب المجلة الأميركية في أوائل عام 2017، بدأت سوخوي تطوير مجموعةٍ متكاملة جديدة تماماً من إلكترونيات الطيران لفئة تي-50 تُسمَّى IMA BK. وثبت أنَّ مجموعة إلكترونيات الطيران الأصلية التي يجري تطويرها منذ عام 2004 غير كافية. وتبيَّن أنَّ مجموعة IMA Bk ستنتظر سنواتٍ حتى تدخل الخدمة.

وفي وقتٍ لاحق من عام 2017، ترك ميخائيل بوغوسيان الرئيس التنفيذي لشركة الطائرات المتحدة -وهو اتحاد الشركات الذي يسيطر على سوخوي وجميع شركات صناعة الطيران الروسية- منصبه. كان بوغوسيان مدير الشركة الوحيد الذي لديه مهاراتٌ في الإدارة الصناعية. والقول بأنَّ هذا هو سبب انهيار مشروع تي-50 بأكمله، سيكون تقليلاً من شأن الأمر. وفي أواخر 2017، خفضت وزارة الدفاع الروسية مشترياتها من فئة تي-50 إلى 12 طائرة فقط في الوقت الراهن، بحسب المجلة الأميركية.

من المفترض أن تخضع هذه النماذج الاثني عشر لمزيدٍ من البحث والتطوير... بحلول عام 2025. وبالنظر إلى أنَّ سوخوي قد جمَّعَت بالفعل 10 منها على الأقل، فإنَّ هذا يعني أن الإنتاج قد توقف.

مقامرة كبيرة

واعتبرت المجلة الأميركية أنه بنشر الكرملين لما يُزعم بأنَّه طائراتٌ من فئة تي-50، فإنَّه يُقامر بنماذج أولية ثمينة، وكذلك بأرواح الطيارين. أرسل الكرملين إلى منطقة حربٍ نشطة مقاتلتين من المفترض أنَّهما "شبحيتان"، لكنَّهما لا تملكان أي قدرة تخفّي على الإطلاق، وتمتلكان بدلاً من ذلك أجهزة استشعار غير كافية وغير مكتملة، وأنظمة مكافحة حريق ومجموعات حماية ذاتية غير مكتملة، ولا تملك إلكترونيات طيران تشغيلية مُدمَجة، وتعمل بمحركات لا يمكن الاعتماد عليها، وبالكاد مرت بأي اختبارٍ لفصل الأسلحة باستثناء نوعين من القنابل غير الموجهة، وتفتقر لوجود أي أسلحة تشغيلية أخرى عدا مدافعها الداخلية عيار 30 مم.

وفوق ذلك، فإنَّ الطائرة سيقودها طيارون يفتقرون لأي تدريب أو تكتيكات عسكرية مناسبة لهذه الفئة، وليس بإمكانهم الاعتماد كلياً على إلكترونيات الطيران والأنظمة الأخرى.
