أعلن الرئيس الأمريكي، دونالد ترامب قراره بإلغاء لقائه مع نظيره الروسي، فلاديمير بوتين، المزمع عقده على هامش قمة مجموعة العشرين في عاصمة الأرجنتين بوينس آيرس.
وأوضح الرئيس الأمريكي، في تغريدة نشرها على صفحته في تويتر وهو في طريقه إلى بوينس آيرس، أنه قرر إلغاء اللقاء بعد اطلاعه على تقرير يخص الحادث في مضيق كيرتش (الرابط بين بحر آزوف والبحر الأسود)، حيث احتجز حرس الحدود الروسي، يوم الأحد الماضي، ثلاثة زوارق حربية أوكرانية بعد اختراقها الحدود البحرية الروسية.
وكتب ترامب على صفحته في تويتر قائلا: "بناء على حقيقة أن السفن والبحارة لم تتم إعادتهم إلى أوكرانيا من روسيا، وجدت أنه سيكون من الأفضل لجميع الأطراف المعنية إلغاء اجتماعي المخطط له في الأرجنتين مع الرئيس فلاديمير بوتين. وأنا انتظر بفارغ الصبر قمة جوهرية عندما تحل هذه الأزمة".
فيما أوضحت متحدثة باسم وزارة الخارجية الأمريكية أن ترامب اتخذ قراره هذا بعد مشاورات أجراها مع كل من وزير خارجيته، مايك بومبيو، ومستشاره للأمن القومي، جون بولتون، ورئيس موظفي البيت الأبيض، جون كيلي.
وجاء هذا الخبر مع أقل من ساعة من تصريحات أدلها بها ترامب للصحفيين قبيل توجهه إلى عاصمة الأرجنتين، رجح فيها عقد لقائه مع نظيره الروسي، فلاديمير بوتين، على هامش قمة مجموعة العشرين المرتقبة في عاصمة الأرجنتين.
وقبل مغادرته إلى بوينس آيرس، أشار ترامب إلى أنه "وقت جيد جدا" لعقد الاجتماع، مضيفا أنه سيبتّ في موضوع اللقاء مع بوتين وهو على متن الطائرة.
ولم يستبعد الرئيس الأمريكي سابقا، في مقابلة مع صحيفة Washington Post، إمكانية إلغاء محادثاته مع بوتين على خلفية الحادث في مضيق كيرتش الرابط بين بحر آزوف والبحر الأسود، حيث احتجز حرس الحدود الروسي ثلاث سفن حربية أوكرانية خرقت حدودها البحرية.
وفي وقت سابق من اليوم، أعلن الكرملين، أن الرئيسين الروسي والأمريكي سيعقدان في الأرجنتين لقاء ثنائيا موجزا، ستليه محادثات موسعة تستغرق نحو ساعة، مشيرا إلى أن واشنطن أكدت عقد اللقاء.

قال المتحدث باسم الرئاسة الروسية، دميتري بيسكوف، في تصريحات صحفية أدلى بها مساء اليوم الخميس، تعليقا على إلغاء ترامب لقاءه مع بوتين خلال قمة "G20" في الأرجنتين: "إننا في الطائرة بالطريق إلى الأرجنتين. وحتى الآن رأينا فقط التغريدة والتقارير الإعلامية، ولا تتوفر لدينا معلومات رسمية".
وأضاف بيسكوف: "لكن إذا كان هذا الأمر حقيقيا، فهذا يعني أن الرئيس بوتين سيحظى بعدة ساعات إضافية في جدول الأعمال لعقد لقاءات مفيدة على هامش القمة".
وفي وقت سابق من مساء الخميس أعلن سيد البيت الأبيض عبر "تويتر" أنه قرر إلغاء لقاءه المرتقب مع بوتين خلال أعمال قمة مجموعة العشرين للدول الصناعية الكبرى في الأرجنتين على خلفية حادث احتجاز البحرية الروسية، يوم 25 نوفمبر، 3 سفن حربية أوكرانية وعلى متنها 24 عسكريا انتهكت حدود روسيا خلال المرور من البحر الأسود إلى بحر آزوف عبر مضيق كيرتش.
وأضاف الرئيس الأمريكي: "أنتظر بفارغ الصبر قمة جوهرية عندما تحل هذه الأزمة".
