الدكتور مالك حسين رجل جدير بالاحترام فهو صادق وقوي ومصادم يصدع بمايري ويعتقد امام اكبر كبير وليس في طبعه التملق والتزلف للحكام بل علي العكس من ذلك فهو شرس في مواجهتهم لايكل ولايمل ولايهادن تشرب بروح السادة المتصوفة ونهل من معينهم وهو شيخ علي طريقته الخاصة حتي وان لم يجلس في المسيد ويرعي الحيران ولكن بيته مفتوح ومزرعته مفتوحة وقلبه مفتوح يتسع للجميع وحتي وان خالفه الراي وعانده فهو متسامح بطبعه لايجد الغلو الحقد والحسد الي قلبه سبيل وهو مترفع عن الصغائر يعرف بفراسة المؤمن الذي ينظر بنور الله.
اول ما عرفته في منزل فتح الرحمن البشير وكانوا يشوهون صورته امامنا في تنظيم الاسلاميين وتحدثت معه بصراحه عن ظنوني وهواجسي عنه بالرغم من اني كنت ادافع عنه من قبل ان اراه فلعل الارواح جنود مجندة وعجبت ان اجابني بهدوء وسعة صدر ولم يكلمني عن هواجسي التي استقيتها من الاسلاميين فقد كان اكبر من ان يخوض في تلك الصغائر ووجدت امامي رجل حاد الذكاء ثاقب النظر عميق الفكر لايضاهيه في ذلك الا الاستاذ،عبدالله زكريا.
وقد حاربت شرذمة من الاسلاميين الدكتور مالك حسين وهو غير مكترث لهم او آبه بهم ومضي في طريقه غير هياب ولاوجل.
يتمتع الدكتور مالك حسين بقدر وافر من الوفاء قد قل نظيره هذا الزمان يتجلي ذلك في مواقفه من الرئيس جعفر النميري حينما فقد السلطة وانفض عنه المقربين وكان الدكتور مالك حسين الي جانبه في القاهرة والي جانب الكثير من السودانيين الذين كان بيته مثابة لهم وامنا.
قصدت هذه الكلمات في حق الدكتور المحترم شديد الوضوح والشفافية والصراحة فهو الكريم بن الكريم بن الكرام حفظه الله ورعاه
