Sudanese share Ramadan Iftar with U.S. Embassy Staff
تمت دعوة موظفي سفارة الولايات المتحدة في 25 يونيو من قبل سكان محليين لمشاركة فطوررمضان معهم. أوضح السيد قاري بعد حضور الافطار" مشاركة الاهالي فطور رمضان أعطتني فكرة وفهم أفضل لهذا الجزء الهام من العقيدة الاسلامية." فيما عبرت جيني عن تقديرها لكرم الضيافة السوداني قائلة "كان لي الشرف أن تتم دعوتي ومشاركة فطور رمضان، وبالاخص تذوق المطبخ السوداني كالعصيدة لقراصة."
اما لورين عبرت عن سعادتها بالجلوس مع النساء واللعب مع الاطفال عند الافطار، مضيفة "تعلمت كلمات عربية جديدة تساعدني للتواصل بشكل أفضل مع ألاطفال."

Sudanese share Ramadan Iftar with U.S. Embassy Staff
On June 25, local residents invited U.S. Embassy Khartoum employees to share an Iftar meal with them in their community. U.S. embassy employee, Gary, stated that “sharing in the meal gave me a better understanding of this important part of the Islamic faith.” Jennie appreciated the warm hospitality of Sudanese stating, “It was an honor to be invited into a home and share this tradition,” adding that “Tasting authentic Sudanese food, such as Aseeda and Gorasa was also a treat!” Lauren commented that, “It was wonderful interacting with women and playing with their beautiful children at the women’s iftar. I learned new Arabic words to communicate better with babies!” Thank you to the Sudanese families for their warm hospitality and for allowing us to share in this wonderful tradition. Ramadan Kareem!
