Russia announces the names of its new weapons
The Russian Defense Ministry announced the results of a competition to name the new types of Russian weapons promising.
The winged rocket with a nuclear engine received the name of the "bird of the wind" after 34.8 percent of the participants voted for it. Palmyra "Palmyra" was followed by 33%.
The self-propelled nuclear submarine was called Poseidon, the "god of the seas" (36.9%). The second place was named "Aurora Aurora" (32.5%).
The Russian laser complex was named Perisvit as the Russian fighter monk who helped the army defeat the Mongols in the Battle of Kulikovo Poli in 1380. Vasilisk was followed by a 28.5% support.
Recall that Russian President Vladimir Putin suggested to the Russian Defense Ministry to launch a popular vote on the Internet to grant new weapons worthy labels.
