Turkish Defense Minister warns France against "invading" the Syrian north

Turkish defense minister on Saturday warned of a French "invasion" of northern Syria after representatives of Kurdish fighters confirmed during their meeting in Paris that France would strengthen its military deployment in the region.
"If France takes action along the lines of military deployment in northern Syria, it will be an illegal measure that is against international law," Minister Noureddine Ganikli told France Presse news agency.
The "Elysee" last Friday, that France does not plan to carry out a new military operation in northern Syria outside the framework of the international coalition against the organization "Dahesh."
The position of the French presidency came after the statements of Kurdish officials received in the "Elysee", they indicated that Paris will send new troops to the spring in northern Syria, which is controlled by Kurdish fighters.
During his meeting with Kurdish officials, French President Emmanuel Macaron called for a dialogue between Ankara and the "Syrian Democratic Forces", whose main component is "with the help of France and the international community".
Ankara has vehemently rejected the offer of French mediation. Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Bakr Bouzdag said France's pledge to help stabilize a region in northern Syria was dominated by Kurdish-led forces, equivalent to supporting terrorism, and could make France "a target for Turkey."
Turkey classifies units to protect the Kurdish people as a terrorist organization, despite their alliance with the United States to fight "dashing" in Syria.

حذر وزير الدفاع التركي السبت من "اجتياح" فرنسي لشمال سوريا، بعدما أكد ممثلون للمقاتلين الأكراد خلال استقبالهم في باريس، أن فرنسا ستعزز انتشارها العسكري في المنطقة.
وصرح الوزير نور الدين جانيكلي أمام وسائل إعلام بحسب "فرانس برس"، قائلا: "إذا اتخذت فرنسا إجراء على غرار انتشار عسكري في شمال سوريا، فسيكون ذلك تدبيرا غير شرعي ينافي القانون الدولي. سيكون ذلك اجتياحا".
وأكد "الإليزيه" يوم الجمعة الماضي، أن فرنسا لا تخطط لتنفيذ عملية عسكرية جديدة في شمال سوريا خارج إطار التحالف الدولي ضد تنظيم "داعش".
وجاء موقف الرئاسة الفرنسية غداة تصريحات لمسؤولين أكراد استقبلوا في "الإليزيه"، أشاروا فيها إلى أن باريس سترسل قوات جديدة لمنبج في شمال سوريا، والتي يسسيطر عليها المقاتلون الأكراد.
وخلال اجتماعه مع المسؤولين الأكراد، دعا الرئيس الفرنسي ايمانويل ماكرون إلى حوار بين أنقرة و"قوات سوريا الديموقراطية" التي تشكل وحدات حماية الشعب مكونها الأساسي "بمساعدة فرنسا والمجتمع الدولي".
وكانت أنقرة قد رفضت بشدة عرض الوساطة الفرنسي، حيث قال بكر بوزداج، نائب رئيس الوزراء التركي، إن تعهد فرنسا بالمساعدة على تحقيق الاستقرار في منطقة بشمال سوريا تهيمن عليها قوات يقودها الأكراد، يعادل دعم الإرهاب، وقد يجعل من فرنسا "هدفا لتركيا".
وتصنف تركيا وحدات حماية الشعب الكردية كتنظيم إرهابي رغم تحالفهم مع الولايات المتحدة لقتال "داعش" في سوريا.
