يحدث مرض الكلى المزمن عندما يعيق مرض أو حالة عمل وأداء الكلية أو الكلى، ما يسبب تلف الكلية والعطب الذي يصيبها بالتدهور والازدياد سوءا على مر الشهور أو السنين. والأمراض التي تسبب مرض الكلى المزمن تتضمن السكري رقم «1 و2» اضافة الى ارتفاع ضغط الدم.
العلماء اكتشفوا في أحدث دراساتهم أن ما يطلقون عليه «مكوكات مجهرية» يمكن أن تسبب المرض، فهل يمكن ان يؤدي هذا إلى المساعدة في ايجاد علاج لمرض الكلى القاتل؟
تعد ما يطلق عليها MICROSCOPIC EXOSMES وهي نوع من الحويصلات المجهرية تطلقها بعض الخلايا وهي أنحف أو أرق من الشعر بألف مرة.
وتنقل الحويصلات الصغيرة خميرة أو أنزيمة ضارة تؤدي إلى تليف الكلية. وهذا هو السبب الرئيسي في مرض الكلى الذي يصيب الملايين من البشر. وليس هناك من علاج شاف له ويعتمد المرضى على عملية الغسيل للحفاظ على الحياة أو الزراعة.
ويأمل العلماء أن يؤدي الاكتشاف إلى ايجاد علاج للمرض الذي تسببه «مكوكات» صغيرة. وهذا الاكتشاف الجديد الذي توصل إليه الباحثون في جامعة نوتنغهام ترينت يقدم الأمل بايجاد سبل لوقف المرض قبل استفحاله، ويأمل العلماء بأن يتمكنوا من حجب وسد الحويصلات المجهرية التي تنقل ما يدعى «الغلوتامينين» أو «TG2».
قالت د. اليزابيتا فيرديريو التي تشرف على البحث: ان هذا يعد علامة رئيسية لتطور مرض الكلى. وأضافت اننا نبحث في الوقت الحالي كيف نستهدف هذه الحويصلات الصغيرة كسبيل لصد ومنع التليف قبل حدوث مشاكل خطيرة. كما ان بالإمكان فحص TG2 في هذه الحويصلات كسبيل لتشخيص المرض بصورة مبكرة، وكلما عرفنا أكثر كلما تمكنا من ايجاد المزيد من السبل للتدخل.
وتقول الدراسات ان نسب الوفيات نتيجة لمرض الكلى قد تزايدت بحوالي 31 بالمائة خلال عقد من الزمن.
وتوضح الأدلة ان التليف الذي يتعذر صده ومقاومته يلعب دورا رئيسيا في بداية مرض الكلى.
وحاول باحثون من جامعة شيفيلد ومعهد CNR لعلم الاعصاب في ميلانو الايطالية في أحدث مشروع لهم البحث عن علاج. ولجأ العلماء الى استخدام تقنية رائدة جديدة لاكتشاف بروتينات TG2 في حالات محاكاة لمرض الكلى. وتمكنوا من تحديد كيفية انتقال TG2 لخلايا الكلية لعبور بروتينات مثل الكولاجين والفيبرونكيتين وهو ما يؤدي الى التليف.
وقد لقيت النتائج التي نشرت في مجلة AMERICAN SOCIETY OF NEPHROLOGY الأميركية الترحيب من جانب الخبراء الذين يأملون في إمكانية علاج للمرض في نهاية المطاف.
