Thousands of Americans Participate in 'March for Our Lives'
Hundreds of thousands of Americans took part in protests on Saturday under the banner of "a march for our lives," the most prominent of which are in the capital and Washington, demanding tougher weapons laws.
The march was led by survivors of the shooting at the Marjorie Stonemann Douglas High School in Florida, where 17 people were killed on February 14 in an incident that sparked public outrage over the incidents.
Organizers, who hope the event in Washington will attract half a million people, called for children's lives to be a priority in the country.
There are more than 800 similar rallies in the country's 50 states as well as in other countries.
The students responsible for organizing the march were praised by several parties and received cash donations, many of them from dozens of celebrities. The "March for Life" website says it raised $ 3.8 million in donations.
Campaign organizers want the Congress, whose many members are running elections this year, to ban the sale of weapons such as those used in the Florida attack and to tighten the scrutiny of arms buyer data. On the other hand, defenders of arms use constitutional guarantees to justify the right to bear arms.
On Friday, President Donald Trump signed a government spending budget of $ 1.3 trillion, including minor adjustments to data checks on arms sales, and ensured that schools help address armed violence.

وقاد المسيرة طلاب ناجون من عملية إطلاق النار في ثانوية مارجوري ستونمان دوغلاس بولاية فلوريدا حيث قتل 17 شخصا في 14 شباط/فبراير، في حادث أشعل الغضب العام بشأن هذا النوع من الحوادث.
وطالب المنظمون الذين يأملون أن يستقطب الحدث في واشنطن نصف مليون شخص، بأن تكون حياة الأطفال أولوية في البلاد.
وهناك أكثر من 800 مسيرة مماثلة في ولايات البلاد الـ50 وكذلك في دول أخرى.
