News on leaking information on Russian ultrasonic weapons
The Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) said on Friday that information about Russian weapons was being transferred to Western intelligence, citing a "treason" case in this regard.
The Kommersant newspaper quoted sources as saying that the investigation team of the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) began inspections this morning in the offices of staff of the Central Research Institute of Mechanical Engineering, as well as in the office of Director of the Research and Analysis Center of the United States Space Missile Organization (ORKK) Dmitry Payson.
The Russian Federal Security Service checks dozens of people, presumably collaborating with Western intelligence, and deliberately supplying them with information on the work of Russian industries in the development of ultrasonic weapons classified as "highly classified."
Kommersant added that the head of the Russian space agency Roskosmos, Vladimir Ostimenko, confirmed the information without giving details.
"Russian Space Agency Director General Roskosmos, Dmitry Rogozin, has ordered our security service to provide maximum support to investigative bodies," Ostimenko said.
On Thursday, the Russian Defense Ministry announced its testing of new sophisticated weapons, including the Avangard and Saramat rockets, the unmanned intercontinental Poseidon submarine and the laser-based Perisvit system.
The ministry confirmed that the system of Kengal ultrasound has entered the military service already since December 2017.
