Besides the tax evasion case, the court also accused Mamic of stealing a large sum of his deal money, Which Dynamo was supposed to have won at the time.
At the start of Luca Modric's move with Dynamo, Mamic was very supportive when he was president of the Croatian club and forced him to sign a contract stipulating that the businessman would receive a sum of money from any future deal.
In addition to Modric, there was player Eduardo Silva who signed the same conditions with Mamic in order to get financial profits from any future deal.
But the problem began with Modric because the amount was large, prompting the Croatian authorities to investigate the case.
When Dynamo Zagreb sold Luka Modric to Tottenham for 21 million euros, half of that amount went directly to the Croatian player. Investigations later reported, with a testimony from Mudric in court, that the latter went to the bank with the son of Mamic or the president's brother, and the player withdrew money from his account and handed him over to one of the two.
Modric eventually received only 1.4 million euros out of his 10.5 million euros, and the rest went to the Mamic family at the time. Which was confirmed by everyone in court according to live testimony recorded in the investigation.
In a previous statement, Mumic described Mamich as a "money machine," but today he rejected the claim and did not make statements that would help the investigators as if he denied all that had happened and absolved Mamic of all corruption cases, especially as he indicated that there was a contract between the two parties Contract with Dynamo Zagreb.
The court is expected to continue its investigation into the Mamic case after Modric has made his claim, while another Dutch star Dejan Lofrin will attend the Liverpool squad because he is one of the players who have been involved with Mamic as well.
The case has not ended here and investigators will follow their work in order to reach the desired results and to prove Mamic's conviction involved in financial corruption and administrative corruption, as well as tax evasion.
