Israel uses a Patriot missile in the Golan Heights
JERUSALEM (Reuters) - The Israeli army launched warning sirens in the northern Galilee area of northern Israel, Israeli media reported on Monday
The media reported what it said was a Patriot missile fired by the Israeli army at an unknown target it says came from Syria, while it said it had asked residents of Safed and the Golan to "enter protected areas."
The Israeli army spokesman, Avichai Adre'i, said the whistles and the launch of the Patriot were the result of Syrian missiles between the opposition and the regime, and were not aimed at Israel directly.
"The missiles were intercepted, lest they fall in Israel," he said.
