Re: Condolence Message to the families of victims of Plane Crash
The Office of the President have leaned of the news of the plane crash into Lake Yirol, Eastern Lakes State at around 8:30 am this Morning with dismay and utter shock.
According to the #Eastern_Lakes_State_Authorities, the South Western plane was hired by the Baby Air Aviation to carry 18 passangers and the crew (Pilot and the Co-Pilot) both Sudanese nationals to Yirol town in Eastern Lakes State when it crashed to the Lake Yirol before landing approach killing 20 passangers.
Only 3 passengers survived, an Italian Doctor, one child and one adult (both South Sudanese Nationals). It is worth noting that the reason of the plane crash is yet to be established, but it was discovered the plane was carrying more than 20 passengers.
The manafest could only reveal the names of 20 passengers including the crew, but the rescue team have retrieved the bodies of 20 people including the crew - which means with the surviving 3 passengers the plane was carrying twenty passengers onboard. Within 20 dead, there were 16 South Sudanese and 4 foreign nationals, inter alia, two Sudanese crew, one Uganadan and Ethiopian.
The Office of the President would like to wholeheartedly convey the message of condolences to the families of the victims of the plane crash and wish quick recovery for the surviving passages. We commend the government of Eastern Lakes State for declaring 3 days mourning at the state level in which the flag shall be flown half mast.
Our heartfelt condolences to the people and the governments of the Sudan, Uganda and Ethiopia for the lost of their nationals in the plane crash. My Almighty God rest their souls in the eternal peace
