?Where is the economic crisis handling program
By Mahjoub Mohammed Saleh
After a long waiting and anticipation, the President of the Republic of Sudan announced the details of his plan to deal with the suffocating economic crisis and the accompanying political tension. The President's plan was based on a ministerial reshuffle not only of the Federal Ministry but also of the Presidency and State Governments. Give an indication of austerity policy the regime intends to enforce, as part of its attempt to tackle the economic crisis
The change led to a reduction in the number of ministries by one-third, falling from thirty-two federal ministries to twenty-one ministries, with a promise to cut the number of state ministers by half, reducing state governments from 8 ministries to 5, A second new deputy, and the dissolution of the post of First Vice-President and Prime Minister, which allowed for the appointment of a new Prime Minister
The initial reaction of everyone who listened to the speech and the decisions that followed was a question that still exists: Where are the expected treatments for the economic crisis ?? No one is convinced that the mere change of names will address Sudan's severe economic crisis, which is besieging the Sudanese citizen day and night
Yes, the previous ministry was weak, weak and incapable, and yes it came as a result of political and tribal quotas! And yes, they created fake jobs and established local administrations to satisfy population groups and buy their political loyalty, but all this will not convince anyone that just laying off this government and appointing another more agile will solve the problems !! Needed to address the roots of the crisis, and is required to change the conditions that produced the crisis, not required to challenge the shadow of the crisis elephant!
The crisis is fundamentally political, its manifestations are economic, and it needs a political and economic solution. It is a radical change to the existing system, and everything else produces only temporary painkillers that do not solve a problem, do not deal with imbalance, and the crisis will continue despite all cosmetic and rehabilitation operations. , The government knows the dimensions of the real crisis, but is not ready to pay its bill, and knows that the status quo reached a stage beyond the patience of citizens, and that life under the current circumstances is impossible, and if the government wants to restore hope - as her speech - As soon as the previous promises are repeated The new government does not have a magic wand. It does not have a detailed program of possible solutions, all that has to do with monitoring the challenges, just wishing to overcome those challenges with a speech full of optimism, and completely devoid of details and elements of an executable plan. Hope for radical solutions, having been grinded by high prices
The current situation is the most serious economic situation in the Sudan since the establishment of its independent state more than 60 years ago. Sudan will not save its current mission except through collective action, which is shared by all the people of the Sudan and adopt a national national project. The former government has come and the new government has come and may have contained some new names and a number of former ministers. This will not change the reality of anything, and it will be nothing more than an old wine in a new force. , And it will happen at a time when it is no longer possible For citizens to take more tests, while their livelihood is deteriorating from day to day and rope patience has reached its end !! The intractable issues need difficult decisions and willpower, both of which are missing today
