Sudan: Killed, injured and dozens lost in soil erosion in Jebel Marra

20 people were killed and dozens of children, the elderly and women were lost and injured as a result of the erosion of the soil and the slide of part of the mountain - west of Sudan and the flood of floods of the area from the direction of the village of Tuquali to the south of Korlang Bang due to heavy rains in the region.
According to a statement issued by the Darfur lawyers' organization, the area was swept away after the Maghrib prayer on Friday, August 7, 2018. It came under rubble, rubble and raging water, killing 20 citizens instantly. Many children, women and the elderly lost their lives and dozens were injured.
The statement confirmed the evacuation of 18 bodies from the rubble, while the rest of the bodies, which are still under the rubble, were not found, such as the bodies of Khadija Abekar Yahia and her husband Mohammed Abdel Salam Yahya.
The Darfur Lawyers' Association appealed to the United Nations and its agencies, the European Union, the Troika countries and international relief organizations to provide emergency humanitarian assistance to those affected by the Nakba.
It called on the Sudanese body at home and abroad to extend a helping hand to affected families as soon as possible.
The martyrs identified by the statement are: Abdulsalam Abker Yahya, Fardous Mohammed Jumaa, Muhammad Abdulsalam Yahya, Fadilah Abdul Salam Ibkar Yahya, Khadija Suleiman Abker Yahya, Mufidah Mohammed Abdul Khater, Ferdos Mohammed Abdullah Al Khater, Taha Mohammed Khamis, Adam Kadin, Sawakin Adam Kadin, Nidal Saif al-Din Abdul Karim, al-Fadhel, Abdel-Sa'id, Abdel Halim, Abdel Karim, Halima, Fatima Adam, Ismael Fadl, Khadija Abker Yahia, Mohamed Abdel Salam Abker Yahya.

We address the humanitarian conscience for the relief and rescue of the Jebel Marra region, which is suffering from the scourge of civil war, adding to it a humanitarian disaster caused by the rains and the erosion of the soil.
