On the occasion of the Jewish New Year, the Jewish Agency estimated the number of Jews around the world at 14,700,000, most of whom live outside Israel, especially in the United States.
According to the Jewish Agency, quoting the Jewish Agency, only 6.6 of the world's Jews live in Israel, with 5.7 million of them living in the United States alone.
France ranked third in the number of Jews after Israel and the United States with 453 thousand Jews and Canada fourth with 391 thousand Jews and Britain and the fifth with 290 thousand Jews.
In the Arab countries, according to the Jewish Agency, there are about 4,500 Jews, including 2,000 in Morocco, 1,000 in Tunisia and less than 500 in Yemen, Syria and Egypt.
In other Middle Eastern countries, the agency said 8,500 Jews live in Iran and 15,000 in Turkey.
The agency added that Jewish communities are very small in 93 countries around the world and does not exceed 100 in these countries.
The Jewish Agency, founded in 1922, is the executive body of the Jewish diaspora, which played a prominent role in encouraging the Jews of the world to immigrate to Palestine in order to establish a national homeland for the Jews.
In mid-July, the Israeli Knesset passed a law that calls Israel a "Jewish state" and calls it "the national homeland of the Jewish people" and states that the right to self-determination is a special right of the Jewish people.
