Sudan's UN envoy says it is time to leave UNAMID,
Khartoum 3 March 2018 - The Permanent Representative of Sudan to the United Nations, Omar Dahab, said that the time has come to implement the text on the departure of UNAMID from Darfur.
He explained the Sudanese Center for Press Services, Saturday, that the purpose of the presence of the joint mission between the United Nations and the African Union "was reached after the calm conditions and the return of conditions in Darfur to normal."

Since March 2015, a joint United Nations, African Union and Sudanese government team has been holding meetings related to Khartoum, Addis and New York to reach an exit strategy for UNAMID.
In the past six months, the peacekeeping mission in the region has completed its withdrawal from 11 areas in the region, followed by a reduction of 44% of the troops as a first phase followed by a second phase of reduction beginning on 1 February 2018, Time and construction of a mission base there.
Dahab confirmed that "everyone has been persuaded that the situation has returned to what it was."
"So the Security Council decided last year to begin the gradual withdrawal of these forces through a gradual reduction in two stages."
The Sudanese delegate pointed to the start of the second phase, which will end in June next to the final exit.
He explained that the decision to deploy UNAMID itself with a text to come out after the achievement of the goal that came for which is peace, and the calm and normalization of the situation in Darfur fully "and this goal has been reached."
The AU-UN peacekeeping force deployed early in 2008 in Darfur, a conflict between government forces and rebels since 2003, leaving 300,000 dead and 2.5 million displaced, according to UN statistics.
UNAMID is the second largest peacekeeping mission around the world after the UN mission in the DRC, and has more than 20,000 military, police and personnel of all nationalities with a budget of $ 1.4 billion for 2013.

الخرطوم 3 مارس 2018- قال مندوب السودان الدائم لدى الأمم المتحدة، عمر دهب، إن الوقت حان لتطبيق النص الخاص بخروج بعثة "يوناميد" من دارفور.
وأوضح بحسب المركز السوداني للخدمات الصحفية، السبت، أن الهدف من وجود البعثة المشتركة بين الأمم المتحدة والاتحاد الافريقي "تم الوصول إليه بعد تهدئة الأوضاع وعودة الأحوال بدارفور إلى طبيعتها".

وبدأ فريق مشترك للأمم المتحدة والاتحاد الأفريقي والحكومة السودانية منذ مارس 2015 اجتماعات متصلة بالخرطوم وأديس ونيويورك للتوصل إلى استراتيجية خروج بعثة "يوناميد".

وبالفعل أكملت البعثة المعنية بحفظ السلام في الإقليم خلال الست أشهر الماضية الانسحاب من 11 منطقة في الإقليم يتبعها تقليص ما نسبته 44% من القوات كمرحلة أولى تليها مرحلة ثانية للتخفيض اعتباراً من أول فبراير 2018، وفقا لقرار مجلس الأمن الدولي الذي اشترط إبقاء قوات البعثة في جبل مرة وتشييد قاعدة للبعثة هناك.

وأكد دهب "أنه تم اقناع الجميع بأن الأحوال عادت إلى ما كانت عليه".

وتابع " لذلك قرر مجلس الأمن العام الماضي بدء الانسحاب التدريجي لهذه القوات عن طريق الخفض التدريجي على مرحلتين".

وأشار المندوب السوداني الى بدء المرحلة الثانية والتي ستنتهي في شهر يونيو المقبل وصولاً إلى الخروج النهائي.

وأوضح إن قرار نشر قوة اليوناميد نفسه به نص للخروج عقب تحقيق الهدف الذي جاءت من أجله وهو السلام، وتهدئة الأحوال وتطبيعها بصورة كاملة في دارفور "وهذا الهدف قد تم الوصول إليه".

ونشرت قوات حفظ سلام مشتركة بين الاتحاد الأفريقي والأمم المتحدة مطلع العام 2008 في إقليم دارفور الذي يشهد نزاعا بين القوات الحكومية ومتمردين منذ 2003 ما خلف 300 ألف قتيل وشرد نحو 2.5 مليون شخص، بحسب إحصائيات أممية.

وتعتبر (يوناميد) ثاني أكبر بعثة حفظ سلام حول العالم ـ بعد البعثة الأممية في الكونغو الديمقراطية ـ، ويتجاوز عدد أفرادها 20 ألفا من الجنود العسكريين وجنود الشرطة والموظفين من مختلف الجنسيات بميزانية بلغت 1.4 مليار دولار للعام 2013.
