While the team leader paid attention to the danger and tried to close the reactor, which causes the graphite columns to descend into the core of the reactor and slow down the speed of the nuclear reaction and reduce heat, however this method It made the heat increase for a while before it started to decrease. Since the generator was unstable and the thermal cycle disturbed from the test effects, this was the factor that caused the graphite columns to warp and could not be dropped into the core of the reactor and made the temperature rise significantly and ignite some of the leaking gases and cause the explosion. The flaw resulted from the accumulation of human errors and the inexperience of young engineers who alternated that night. This led to a disruption of energy supplies in the Soviet Republic of Ukraine, as well as the closure of factories and farm disruptions and material losses amounting to more than three billion US dollars. Thirty-six people were killed and more than 2,000 injured. The reactor was completely closed in 2002. After the explosion, the authorities in Ukraine declared that the Chernobyl region was a "disaster area", which includes the city of Barbiyat, which was established in 1970 to house workers at the reactor, and more than 100,000 people were evacuated from the areas surrounding the reactor. After the explosion, the reactor started burying and wrapping the reactor with reinforced concrete to prevent radiation leakage resulting from it, which led to the death of a large number in subsequent years from radiation, especially thyroid cancer. However, in recent years cracks have been observed in the concrete casing, so there are studies to make a new casing that is thicker and better insulated. Perhaps the Soviet Union's announcement of this explosion on its soil, and then requested aid from the countries of the world, is one of the manifestations of the change in the policy of the country that was leading the Communist bloc and never reveals such events in it. Mankind has witnessed it so far and is classified as a Class 7 nuclear disaster. The disaster occurred on April 26, 1986 in the fourth section of the Chernobyl plant reactor near the city of Pripyat in Ukraine which was then one of the republics of the former Soviet Union. The disaster occurred when the experts at the station conducted an experiment to test the effect of the power outage on it, and an operation error after the water turbines used to cool the uranium used and generating electricity closed the uranium temperature in the fourth reactor to the point of ignition. This caused the core of the fourth reactor to melt and two large explosions followed by ignition. Heavy fire in this reactor, and the heat and smoke resulting from the burning fire carried radioactive materials to the sky for a distance of one kilometer in the region, and explosions and fires left a deadly cloud of nuclear radiation spread in Ukraine and a neighbor Guardian Belarus and Russia. The nuclear radiation cloud was divided into three other clouds that helped the wind to carry the first to Poland and the Scandinavian countries, the second to the Czech Republic, and from there to Germany, and the third to Romania, Bulgaria, Greece and Turkey.

اقدر ان  انهيار الاتحاد السوفيتي اكتملت شروطه عندما وقعت كارثة  الاتحاد السوفيتي كارثة تشيرنوبل  هي حادثة نووية إشعاعية كارثية وقعت في المفاعل رقم 4 من محطة تشيرنوبل للطاقة النووية. في يوم السبت 26 أبريل من عام 1986، قرب مدينة بريبيات في شمال أوكرانيا السوفيتية، وتعد أكبر كارثة نووية شهدها العالم. حدثت عندما كان ما يقرب من 200 موظف يعملون في مفاعل الطاقة النووي (1،2،3) بينما كان يتم إجراء عملية محاكاة وتجربة في الوحدة الرابعة التي وقع فيها الانفجار. كما ساهم عامل بنية المفاعل في الانفجار حيث أن التحكم في العملية النووية كان يتم بأعمدة من الجرافيت.في حين أن رئيس الفريق انتبه إلى الخطر وحاول إغلاق المفاعل مما يجعل أعمدة الجرافيت تنزل في قلب المفاعل وتبطئ من سرعة التفاعل النووي وتخفض الحرارة، إلا أن هذه الطريقة جعلت الحرارة تزداد لوهلة قبل أن تشرع في الانخفاض. وبما أن المولد كان غير مستقر والدورة الحرارية مشوشة من آثار الاختبار، كان هذا هو العامل الذي أدى إلى اعوجاج أعمدة الجرافيت وعدم إمكانية إسقاطها في قلب المفاعل وجعل الحرارة ترتفع بشكل كبير وتشعل بعض الغازات المتسربة وتتسبب في الانفجار. نتج الخلل عن تراكم أخطاء بشرية وقلة خبرة مهندسين شبان قاموا بالمناوبة تلك الليلة. وأدى ذلك إلى حدوث اضطراب في إمدادات الطاقة في جمهورية أوكرانيا السوفيتية، كما أدى إلى إغلاق المصانع وتعطل المزارع وبلغت الخسائر المادية ماقيمته أكثر من ثلاثة مليارات دولار أمريكي. وقد لقي 36 شخصا مصرعهم وأصيب أكثر من 2000 شخص. وتم اغلاق المفاعل نهائياً عام 2002.وعقب الانفجار أعلنت السلطات في أوكرانيا أن منطقة تشرنوبل "منطقة منكوبة" والتي تشمل مدينة بربيات التي أنشأت عام 1970 لإقامة العاملين في المفاعل وتم إجلاء أكثر من 100 ألف شخص من المناطق المحيطة بالمفاعل. وبعد حدوث الانفجار بدأت عمليات دفن وتغليف المفاعل بالخرسانة المسلحة لمنع تسرب الإشعاع الناجم عنه والذي أدى إلى وفاة عدد كبير في السنوات اللاحقة متأثرين بالإشعاع وخاصة أمراض سرطان الغدة الدرقية. إلا أنه في الأعوام الأخيرة لوحظ تشقق في الغلاف الخرساني لذلك هناك دراسات لعمل غلاف جديد أكثر سماكة وأفضل عزلاً. وربما كان قيام الاتحاد السوفييتي بالإعلان عن حدوث هذا الانفجار على أراضيه، ثم طلب المعونة من دول العالم، أحد مظاهر التغيير في سياسة الدولة التي كانت تتزعم الكتلة الشيوعية ولا تكشف عن مثل تلك الأحداث فيها أبداً.كارثة تشيرنوبل تصنف عالميا كأسوأ كارثة للتسرب الإشعاعي والتلوث البيئي شهدتها البشرية حتى الآن وصنفت ككارثة نووية من الدرجة الـ 7. وقعت الكارثة في السادس والعشرين من أبريل1986 في القسم الرابع من مفاعل محطة تشرنوبل بالقرب من مدينة بريبيات في أوكرانيا التي كانت حينذاك واحدة من جمهوريات الاتحاد السوفياتي السابق. وحدثت الكارثة عند إجراء الخبراء بالمحطة تجربة لاختبار أثر انقطاع الكهرباء عليها، وأدى خطأ في التشغيل بعد إغلاق توربينات المياه المستخدمة في تبريد اليورانيوم المستخدم وتوليد الكهرباء إلى ارتفاع حرارة اليورانيوم بالمفاعل الرابع إلى درجة الاشتعال.وتسبب هذا في انصهار قلب المفاعل الرابع وحدوث انفجارين كبيرين أعقبهما اشتعال النيران بكثافة في هذا المفاعل، وحملت الحرارة والدخان الناتجان من النيران المشتعلة المواد المشعة إلى السماء لمسافة كيلومتر واحد بالمنطقة، وخلفت الانفجارات والحرائق سحابة قاتلة من الإشعاعات النووية انتشرت في أوكرانيا وجارتيها روسيا البيضاء وروسيا. وتجزأت سحابة الإشعاعات النووية إلى ثلاث سحابات أخرى ساعدت الرياح في حمل أولاهن إلى بولندا والدول الإسكندنافية والثانية إلى التشيك ومنها إلى ألمانيا والثالثة إلى رومانيا وبلغاريا واليونان وتركيا.
