
Eritrean asylum seekers appear before the Kenyan judiciary
A total of 109 Eritreans and Eritreans were brought before a court in Asiolo, 280 km north of Nairobi, the official Kenyan news agency reported. According to the news, the Kenyan public prosecutor presented these Eritreans, including children of the judiciary, on charges of entering the country illegally on the ninth of this month. The court ruled that the issue of the refugees should be referred to the Kenyan Refugee Commission to determine their status in the country. Pending the verdict, the men will remain in the city jail while women and children will be held at a police station, the agency said
Eritrean sources said dozens of Eritreans had begun to leave Ethiopia for Kenya, especially after reports of Eritrean security forces arriving in the Ethiopian capital to track down some Eritreans in Ethiopia
