The problem of Somalis with the Ethiopian state
Khaled Hassan Yousef
Sometime some Somalis thought their problem with the property was represented by Haile Selassie.
Then Mengistu Haile Meriam came, thinking that their problem was limited to his regime, but the Somali regime, based on pragmatism, had reconciled and printed with Ethiopia, realizing that the problem still existed.
When Meles Zenawi came to power, they thought he was a better alternative than his predecessors, and some of them still saw it, while some disagreed.
With the arrival of Abyei Ahmed to rule, many Somalis saw that their problem with Ethiopia is on the way to resolve!
It seems that they will be hurt by the successor to Abyei Ahmed in power in the hope of a better alternative.
The issue is that they do not realize that their problems are with the Ethiopian state, regardless of who represents the head of state.
When the Somalis realize that, the vision to guide the struggle will be crystallized.
When they realize that the occupation tools of the Somalis are in themselves a part of the machinery of the Ethiopian state, they are in the direction of forming the right vision.
Suppose that Somalis became the head of the Ethiopian state, does this entail the commitment of the Somalis to the Ethiopian state
I do not think so, but there are those who look forward to it and also want to go further, such as the East African Unity
They forget that Somalia was the first to introduce a confederation with Ethiopia, which Addis Ababa refused
All Ethiopians in the event of the establishment of such a unit will gain from it, but what will win the Somalis will not benefit the others, they have nothing to lose compared to Somalia
The concept of the state has an expansionist imperial empire or it has come late, and they have not had a deep vision of what a nation-state is, and the fact that living outside this framework does not have the least problematic and vice versa with the Somali self-assembly
Somalis who are included in the talk are all the sons of this nationalism and not exclusively those who are subject to the Ethiopian occupation
When the ceiling of Somalia's vision rises and the focus on Ethiopian regimes goes further than that of the state, then they are in the right direction
But without that is a sign that they are not in the footsteps of the benefits before them
The interests of Somalis are not to obtain services by the Ethiopian state or to divide the Ethiopians for the purpose of sharing power with them, or to bring the government security on their land to control them
But rather their interest in distinguishing between the entity of the Ethiopian State and the end of the bond between them to a good-neighborly relationship, in which the solution and the right together and without it are just an unequal relationship
