?Is Germany's exit in the World Cup expected
Germany should not be surprised by their early exit from the group stage of the World Cup for the first time in 80 years.
The alarm bells should have sounded after the Germans failed to regain their top spot almost a year before the start of the finals in Russia.
But the combination of extra confidence, obstinacy and negligence was Sama's team-mowing in Group F to leave the tournament after one win in three games.
The team, which was a goal machine, turned into a group without spirit and without harmony, unable to act as a united team.
Most of the responsibility lies with coach Joachim Loew, who has never looked at the clear signs of decline last year.
The 2014 World Cup winner won the 2017 Confederations Cup and completed a perfect qualifying campaign by winning all 10 matches.
Loew was bragging about the number of options in his squad and had more than 30 players to choose from, but after recent successes the index began to fall.
Germany tied England, France and Spain in friendly matches before the World Cup, lost to Brazil in March, lost to Austria in the penultimate match and narrowly overcame Saudi Arabia before traveling to Russia.
Loew experimented with a variety of ideas in the squad and the plan and stressed that German success depends on accepting things that may be wrong in friendly matches.
Loew was confident that everything would be fine when he arrived in Russia. But there were problems with Loew's choices.
Incredibly, Leroy Sani has ruled out the English Premier League's best player and probably the most talented German in the current generation, but Loew renewed his confidence in veteran striker Mario Gomez and the far-away duo of Sami Khadira and Masoud Ozil.
Ozil and Ilkay Gandugan, both of Turkish descent, raised the controversy before the tournament after taking pictures with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan.
Voices in Germany have not been seriously dealt with, demanding the exclusion of the two after they wrote "Erdoğan Rossi" but the two appeared to be not in the best fit to compete in Russia.
Ozil returned to the squad after coming out after the defeat from Mexico and the last meeting against South Korea without leaving a fingerprint in the shock loss 2-0. And slowness of slowness and a large number of errors and lack of creativity as opposed to what it was in 2014.
But there have been other problems with no real captain and a lack of effectiveness against the goal despite multiple chances as the team finished the tournament with just two goals in three games.
"There was too much confidence in the first game against Mexico and we thought we had to press the button to win," Loew said. The 58-year-old coach, who took command in 2006 and recently extended his contract until 2022, accepts responsibility for the failure and remains to be seen if he will complete his job or seek a successor.
