Iranian TV prevents Puyol from appearing on his screen for "strange reason"
An Iranian television station has banned Carles Puyol, the former Spain star and former Barcelona team, from appearing because of his "hairstyle".
Puyol was scheduled to appear on IRTV3 for an analysis of Spain and Iran last Wednesday in the second round of Group B of the 2018 World Cup, which was won by La Roja, before the Iranian channel canceled its appearance.
The 40-year-old Puyol's long, corrugated hair would not be suitable for the conservative values ​​of the state, the newspaper said.
Adil Ferdosibur, the announcer of the Iranian channel, spoke of the cancellation of the meeting of Puyol, stressing that he did everything in his power to prevent the decision.
Iran are third in Group B with 3 points, one point behind Spain and Portugal, while Morocco have conceded the World Cup with no points.
