دعوات أمريكية لمعاقبة قطر

أعلن رئيس لجنة الشؤون الخارجية في مجلس النواب الأمريكي أد رويس أن الكونغرس سينظر في نقل القوات الأمريكية خارج قاعدة "العديد" إذا لم يتغير سلوك قطر.

وأعلن رويس خلال ندوة عقدت أمس الأول في واشنطن أنه سيطرح قانونا في الكونغرس لمعاقبة الدول التي تدعم ماليا وإعلاميا فروعا لحركة الإخوان المسلمين بما في ذلك حماس وجماعات متشددة أخرى، بحسب تعبيره.

وخص المسؤول التشريعي الأمريكي بالذكر قطر التي توجد على أراضيها قاعدة "العديد" الجوية التي تعد من أكبر القواعد العسكرية الامريكية في العالم، وتوعدها بفرض عقوبات ضدها، مضيفا "أعتقد أنه في حال لم تتغير تصرفات قطر، فطبعا ستكون لدينا إرادة بالتطلع لخيارات أخرى للقاعدة العسكرية".

وأدلى وزير الدفاع الأمريكي الأسبق روبرت غيتس برأي مماثل، حيث قال إن مغادرة القوات الأمريكية مراكزها في قطر "مسألة معقدة"، لكنه أضاف أن واشنطن قد تفكر فعليا في بدائل لقاعدة "العديد" بسبب ارتباط الدوحة بـ"جماعات إرهابية".ورأى أنه من غير الملائم أن تستضيف قطر القوات الأمريكية وفي ذات الوقت تدعم حركات متشددة، مشيرا إلى أن " التعريف الذي استخدمه لقطر أنها دولة ساعدت في تمويل القاعدة وداعش وجماعة الإخوان وطالبان، ولا يمكنني أن أفهم لماذا".
