باكستاني على رأس التحالف العسكري بقيادة السعوديةوافقت الحكومة الباكستانية على منح شهادة عدم الاعتراض لرئيس الأركان العامة السابق للجيش الجنرال رحيل شريف لقيادة تحالف يضم 39 دولة من الدول الإسلامية تشرف عليه السعودية.
وجاء هذا الاعلان من قبل وزير الدفاع الباكستاني خواجة عاصف في برنامج "جيرغا" الذي سوف تبثه قناة "جيو نيوز" الأحد الساعة العاشرة مساء.
وقال الوزير إن الوثائق الرسمية فى هذا الصدد لم تتم بعد، ولكن الحكومة وافقت من حيث المبدأ، مضيفا أن الحكومة تلقت طلبا خطيا بشأن ذلك من الحكومة السعودية.
وتابع عاصف أنه زار السعودية لأداء العمرة في وقت سابق من هذا العام، والتقى أيضا بمسؤولين سعوديين.
وقال الوزير الباكستاني إن المجلس الاستشاري لوزراء دفاع الدول الأعضاء في التحالف الإسلامي سوف يحضر في مايو/آياراجتماعا لهذا الغرض، مشيرا إلى أنه لم يتم بعد تشكيل هيكل التحالف حتى الآن.
وأضاف خواجة عاصف "عندما يشارك الجنرال المتقاعد رحيل شريف في الاجتماع سوف يحدد الهيكل".
وكانت السعودية قد أعلنت في شهر ديسمبر/كانون الأول عام 2015 عن تشكيل تحالف إسلامي مكون من 35 دولة يهدف إلى مكافحة الإرهاب بجميع أشكاله ومظاهره.
