The 2017 Global Entrepreneurship Summit will take place November 28–30 in Hyderabad, India, with a focus on women entrepreneurs who hold the key to bringing prosperity to their countries.
The annual summit gathers emerging entrepreneurs, investors, business chiefs and others for 2 1/2 days of training, mentoring and investment matchmaking. This year’s theme is “Women First, Prosperity for All.”
In a series of tweets, Prime Minister Narendra Modi of India called the summit “a unique opportunity for bringing together entrepreneurs and startups with global leaders” and said he looked forward to Ivanka Trump’s participation. Ivanka Trump is a special adviser to the president.
Trump, a businesswoman, said in a tweet she was looking forward to the event.
The summit will focus on supporting women entrepreneurs, solving 21st-century challenges, and fostering economic growth globally. The U.S. and Indian hosts are organizing sessions around four major business sectors: energy and infrastructure; health care and life sciences; financial technology and digital economy, and media and entertainment.
The first Global Entrepreneurship Summit took place in Washington in 2010, and the most recent was in Silicon Valley in June 2016.
