An Israel Hayom survey finds that 73% of Israelis don't think that U.S. President Barack Obama has Israel's best interest at heart • An overwhelming majority feels that Prime Minister Netanyahu is best suited to lead the Israeli government at this time.

The majority of the Israeli public believes that Israel needs to press on with efforts to torpedo the nuclear agreement signed recently between Iran and world powers, an Israel Hayom survey conducted by New Wave Research has revealed.
According to the poll, a vast majority of 76% of Hebrew-speaking Jewish Israelis believe that Israel should continue fighting against the deal, while only 15% think that Israel should not fight it.
The Israeli public's decisiveness on the issue was also reflected in the general opinion regarding U.S. President Barack Obama, who is seen as having led world powers toward an agreement with Iran. Asked whether they thought Obama was looking out for Israel's interests, a large majority -- 73% -- said no. Only 20% said they believed Obama had Israel's best interest at heart.
One possible conclusion is that since the public does not believe that the U.S. has Israel's back, they feel that Israel needs to "take care of itself" and wage its own battle against the nuclear agreement, which Israelis view as a direct threat.
Participants -- a random selection of 500 individuals over the age of 18 -- were also asked who they thought would be best suited to lead the government of Israel at this time. The answer was clear cut -- a 39% plurality replied that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was best suited for the job, and 14% said Opposition Leader Isaac Herzog was better suited for the leadership position. Meanwhile, 13% said Yesh Atid leader Yair Lapid would be the best man for the job, 6% opted for Kulanu leader Moshe Kahlon, and 5% said Yisrael Beytenu head Avigdor Lieberman would be best suited for the job.
The final tally shows that more Israelis support Netanyahu as their leader than all the other candidates combined.
