United Nations: The world cannot afford a new war in the Gulf
"The world cannot afford a new war in the Gulf," United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said Friday in a statement.
The Secretary-General called on the leaders to show the utmost restraint "in this tense circumstance, at a time when the Iranian authorities called for revenge against Soleimani's killers.
This came the day after the assassination of the Iranian military commander Qassem Soleimani in Baghdad, by the American forces

قال الأمين العام للأمم المتحدة أنطونيو جوتيريش، الجمعة، في بيان، إن “العالم لا يمكنه تحمل حرب جديدة في الخليج”.
ودعا الأمين العام، القادة، إلى التحلي بأقصى درجات ضبط النفس” في هذا الظرف المتوتر، في وقت دعت فيه السلطات الايرانية الى الانتقام من قتلة سليماني.
جاء ذلك غداة اغتيال القائد العسكري الايراني قاسم سليماني في بغداد، على يد القوات الأميركية.
