Germany’s Nearly Hung Parliament Author: Tom Luongo

Germany’s Nearly Hung Parliament Author: Tom Luongo From the Notebook Posts are reworks of posts made for my Patrons. This one is from September 27th. The German elections are done and dusted. The results are both discouraging and oddly uplifting. Before I get too deep into the analysis I’m going to note a few things that stand out  The direct link to the German Gov’t results site is here.   Observations of the vote totals: Die Linke collapsed into the actual vote.  They barely squeaked into any seats at all in the Bundestag, needing either 5% of First Votes or winning 3 of the standing constituency seats.  They fulfilled exactly both requirements which smacks of collusion between the left parties to ensure that DL got the 3 seats in case they didn’t crack 5%. The Greens also collapsed into the vote itself after polling as high as 17% in the final polls and 25% earlier this year.  There was definitely some consent manufacturing going on with the poll...

YouTube deletes 2 channels of RT DE with 600K subscribers over ‘community guidelines’ violation

YouTube deletes 2 channels of RT DE with 600K subscribers over ‘community guidelines’ violation by aletho RT | September 28, 2021 YouTube has permanently deleted two of RT's German-language channels, the news outlet has announced. RT DE was listed among top News & Politics channels on the social media platform, with hundreds of millions of views. The Google-owned video service “has deleted the RT DE channel, as well as our second channel DFP [Der Fehlende Part, “the missing piece”], without the right to restoration,” Dinara Toktosunova, head of RT in Germany, announced on her Telegram channel on Tuesday. The main RT DE channel was barred from live-streaming and uploading videos for seven days since September 21, on the basis of a strike over “community guidelines” violations, for alleged “medical misinformation” in four videos. YouTube did not elaborate on what specifically was questionable in the clips. The videos, some weeks while others months old, focused on the Covid-19 ...

What You Need to Know About Germany’s National Election By Melissa Eddy

Pool photo by Steffi Loos What You Need to Know About Germany’s National Election By Melissa Eddy Germans will vote on a new government Sunday, one without Angela Merkel, who will step down after 16 years in power. Sept. 26, 2021, 2:06 a.m. ET BERLIN — Germans will vote on a new government on Sunday and for the first time since 2005, Angela Merkel is not running. After nearly 16 years in power, Ms. Merkel, 67, will leave control of Europe’s largest economy to a new chancellor. The race for the chancellery is wide open and in the wake of Brexit and the election of President Biden in the United States, the world will be watching to see which direction Germans take their country. What is at stake? Guiding Germany out of the coronavirus pandemic, with a focus on reviving the economy, remains a most pressing issue on the domestic front. Climate policies, which have become more urgent after recent f...

Vaccine effectiveness drops further in the over-40s, to as low as minus 53%: New PHE report-By Will Jones

Vaccine effectiveness drops further in the over-40s, to as low as minus 53%: New PHE report by aletho And That’s a Fact By Will Jones | The Daily Sceptic | September 24, 2021 It’s official: I am spouting misinformation about the Covid vaccines. Full Fact – the Google, Facebook and George Soros-funded outfit that Ofcom has said it relies on to tell it what to censor regarding COVID-19 – has ‘fact checked‘ my recent piece on PHE data showing negative vaccine effectiveness in August and branded it “incorrect”. Writer Leo Benedictus – henceforth to be known as the Oracle – takes particular issue with the headline, which he says “falsely claims that a report from Public Health England (PHE) shows the COVID-19 vaccines having ‘negative effectiveness’ in the over-40s”. “This is not true about the COVID-19 vaccines – nor is it true that the PHE report shows this,” the Oracle declares. Except it is. The data contained in the report is completely clear, and the calculation of unadjusted va...

Eastern Sudan is a larger issue than partial solutions.---- Hatem Babiker Awad Al-Karim

A picture reflecting the events of the December 2019 revolution Eastern Sudan is a larger issue than partial solutions. Hatem Babiker Awad Al-Karim  The issues of war and peace in Sudan since the 1955 Torit protests have been the same issues related to ending "marginalization", ending armed violence by strengthening national unity, upholding the popular will, and democratic transition. The Addis Ababa Agreement of February 27 / 1972 AD between the Government of Sudan and the Sudan Liberation Movement was able to achieve regional rule for southern Sudan, and the texts of the agreement were included in the Constitution of Sudan, so it divided Sudan into regions (the southern region, Darfur region, eastern region, Kordofan, the central region, the capital Nationalism), and because the agreement was not achieved by a popular will, national consensus, and popular consensus, it was subjected to holes by “reneging on covenants” and it collapsed, when the central government in Khar...

The consequences of the "coup" of the partners on the "transition"! Khaled Al-Tijani Al-Noor

The consequences of the "coup" of the partners on the "transition"! Khaled Al-Tijani Al-Noor September 22, 2021 (1) If there was an actual announced coup, it is certain that it is not those limited facts whose scene was limited to a few military barracks, as the available data indicate that they are an expression of an internal rebellion against the army leadership rather than an attempt to move a coup in the well-known technical term, but rather it is the exposure of the extent of isolation The ruling class, military and civilian alike, has distanced itself from the bases in the armed forces and among the masses on which they have long relied and bet in its name to ensure the monopoly of power with its current equation, at a time when the scenario of the “military and civilian partners” coup d’état against the constitutional document and the failure to fulfill the transitional entitlements continues, as well as the The very mediocre performance in managing the af...

Here’s the skinny on what happened yesterday and today regarding the booster dose-By Meryl Nass, MD

Here’s the skinny on what happened yesterday and today regarding the booster dose by aletho By Meryl Nass, MD | September 23, 2021 Last Friday, FDA's advisory committee (VRBPAC) voted 16 to 2 against giving a license to a third Pfizer booster shot for everyone age 16 and up. Although a second vote at Friday's meeting had not been planned, another question was hastily developed. That question asked whether the vaccine could be licensed for a third booster dose for high risk people under the age of 65. That vote got a unanimous yes. The panels decisions are not final. The FDA is obliged to take the panels advice into consideration, but it is not required to adopt it. So yesterday, the FDA issued a license for the Pfizer vaccine for the booster dose. But in doing so, FDA added an additional category of people for the booster dose, a category that had not been included in the Advisory Committee's vote: "individuals 18 through 64 years of age whose frequent institutional ...

One white elephant submarine deal replaced with a worse one by Christina MacPherson

One white elephant submarine deal replaced with a worse one by Christina MacPherson Australia’s submarine policy has previously eschewed nuclear propulsion. Now, as a dowry for receiving such largesse, Canberra is offering up Australia as a confirmed US asset in policing the Indo-Pacific. US Navy commanders will be smacking their lips at maintaining attack vessels in Australia as part of the arrangement...... Nuclear white elephants: Australia’s new submarine deal, Green Left, Binoy KampmarkSeptember 16, 2021Issue 1319Australia  Few areas of public expenditure are more costly and mindlessly wasteful than submarines. Australia’s effort is particularly impressive. Pick a real winner by signing a contract for a yet-to-be-designed attack class submarine, supposedly “necessary” in an “increasingly dangerous” region. Ensure the submarine design is based on a nuclear model, but remove that attribute and charge at least twice as much for a less capable weapon. Make sure the order is...
