Saudi Arabia announces thwarted attack by a marching plane near Abha airport
The Saudi-led coalition announced on Saturday that it had foiled a "terrorist attack" by a drone trying to approach Abha airport, the official Saudi news channel reported.
The coalition added that it destroyed the aircraft and targeted officials responsible for the launch of unmanned aircraft in the province of Saada, Yemen, noting that "they were eliminated."
Abha airport operates its usual traffic, according to the Saudi channel.
The Houthis announced earlier Saturday targeting the airport Abha by a marching plane.
The Saudi-led coalition has been waging a war in Yemen since March against the Huthis and in support of the internationally recognized Yemeni president Abd Rabbo Mansour Hadi.
