OFFICIAL RULES NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. This sweepstakes ("Promotion") is only open to residents in the United States (excluding Hawaii and Alaska) and the District of Columbia. 1. How to Enter: To enter with a purchase entry, visit www.PresidentIsMissingBook.com to fill out and submit the Entry Form and upload your pre-order proof of purchase for the hardcover, audiobook or eBook edition of The President is Missing by Bill Clinton and James Patterson (the “Authors”). Entrants must enter all items in the entry form. To enter by mail-in entry without a purchase, hand-write your (i) full name (first and last), (ii) valid e-mail address, (iii) complete street address (P.O. Boxes not accepted), city, state and zip code, and (iv) telephone number on a 3.5” x 5” card and mail it with sufficient postage to: Hachette Book Group, Inc., 1290 Avenue of the Americas, New York, NY 10104, Attn: SB-5NW2 by April 30, 2018. Any mail-in entry received after April 30, 2018 will not be eligible. Entrants must provide all of items (i) through (v) in the mail-in entry form. Number of Entries per Person: Each entrant will get one (1) entry per person upon submitting the Entry Form. No automated entry devices and/or programs permitted. All entries become the sole and exclusive property of the Sponsors and receipt of entries will not be acknowledged or returned. Only fully completed Entry Form The GRAND PRIZE consists of the following for one (1) winner plus winner’s adult guest (“Guest”), subject to the conditions in paragraph 7 below: • Two (2) tickets to one of the following author events on The President is Missing’s book tour, which will include a meet-and-greet and photo opportunity with the Authors (the “Author Event”), to be selected by Sponsors at their sole discretion: (i) June 4, 2018 event in New York, New York, (ii) June 7, 2018 event in Washington D.C., or (iii) June 9, 2018 event in Little Rock, AK (approximate retail value (“ARV”) $200); • Economy-class round-trip airfare for two (2) adults between the major commercial airport closest to the winner’s residence and a major city airport near the Author Event’s location (collectively, the “Flights”) (ARV $1,000); • Two (2) night stay for up to two (2) occupants in a double occupancy room at a hotel (the “Hotel”) to be selected by Sponsors in their sole discretion (ARV $800); • One (1) two hundred dollar ($200.00) American Express gift card for a dinner for two (the “Gift Card”) (ARV $200.00) • Two (2) hardcover copies of The President is Missing by Bill Clinton and James Patterson autographed by the Authors (ARV is $60.00). The total ARV for the Grand Prize is $2,460.00. Each FIRST PRIZE consists of: • One (1) hardcover copy of The President is Missing by Bill Clinton and James Patterson autographed by the Authors (ARV $30.00); • One (1) The President is Missing Mug (ARV $10), and; • One (1) The President is Missing T-Shirt (ARV $10). The total ARV for all five (5) First Prizes is $250.00. Each SECOND PRIZE consists of: • One (1) The President is Missing Mug (ARV $10), and; • One (1) The President is Missing T-Shirt (ARV $10). The total ARV for all twenty (20) First Prizes is $400.00. The total ARV for all twenty six (26) prizes is $3,110.00. NOTE: The Grand Prize does not include or cover any of the following expenses, fees, costs or arrangements: (i) transportation other than the Flights (e.g., to and from the Author Event and Hotel and/or transportation to the and from the airport and winner’s home or the Hotel, etc.) (ii) meals other than the Gift Card, (iii) travel insurance, (iv) excursions or add-on services during winner’s stay at the Hotel and/or in the Author Event’s city, or (iv) any other expenses or arrangements associated with or incurred by the winner and his/her guest(s) in redeeming the Grand Prize (collectively, “Additional Expenses”). The Additional Expenses and all unspecified expenses will be the sole responsibility of the winner. In the case of unavailability of any of the prizes, Sponsors reserve the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value. Prizes are non-transferable. No substitutions or cash redemptions. All unspecified expenses are the responsibility of winners. All federal, state and local taxes are the sole responsibility of the winners. If a winner is unable or unwilling to redeem his or her respective prize within the terms set forth in these Official Rules that prize will be forfeited and may be awarded to an alternate winner. Sponsors are not responsible if the Author Event, Flights, and/or Hotel reservations are delayed, postponed or cancelled for any reason, or for issues arising from redeeming the Gift Card, in which event the Grand Prize is forfeited and no substitution will be provided except in Sponsors’ sole discretion and Sponsors will have no obligation to award compensation in lieu thereof. 6. Notification: Potential winners selected will be notified by email on or about May 7, 2018 and may be required to sign and return, where legal, an Affidavit or Declaration of Eligibility and Liability/Publicity Release ("Winner Eligibility Documents") within 7 days of prize notification. If any potential winner cannot be contacted within 5 days of first prize notification attempt, if any prize or prize notification is returned as undeliverable, if any winner rejects his/her prize or in the event of noncompliance with these Official Rules, such prize will be forfeited and an alternate potential winner will be selected from all remaining eligible entries. Upon prize forfeiture, no compensation will be given. Limit one prize per person. 7. Conditions: Participation in Promotion constitutes entrant's permission for Sponsors to (i) conduct a background check should entrant be selected as the potential Grand Prize winner to confirm eligibility as a condition of awarding the Grand Prize and (ii) use his/her name, likeness and city and state of residence. The potential Grand Prize winner and Guest must provide certain personally identifiable information and as part of the Winner Eligibility Documents for security purposes and for Sponsor to conduct a background check, provided that to the extent additional authorization is necessary under law, potential Grand Prize winner and Guest shall authorize such check. Sponsors reserve the right at their sole discretion to disqualify any potential Grand Prize winner and Guest if either fails to properly authorize their background checks. Sponsors further reserve the right at their sole discretion to disqualify any potential Grand Prize winner and Guest based on the results of the background check if: (i) such background check reveals that the potential Grand Prize winner and/or Guest have engaged in behavior that in Sponsors sole discretion is inappropriate, threatening or unlawful, or (ii) Sponsors determine in their sole discretion that awarding the Grand Prize to such winner and Guest might reflect negatively on this Promotion, the Sponsors, the Authors and their respective parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, partners and foundations. By participating, entrants and winners agree to release and hold harmless the Sponsors, Authors, WJC, LLC, JBP Business, LLC, and their respective advertising and promotion agencies and each of their parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, partners, representatives, agents, successors, assigns, employees, officers and directors and their parent companies, subsidiaries, affiliates, partners, advertising and promotion agencies, manufacturers or distributors of Promotion materials, (collectively, "Released Entities"), from any and all liability, for loss, harm, damage, injury, cost or expense whatsoever including without limitation, property damage, personal injury and/or death which may occur in connection with, preparation for, travel to, or participation in Promotion, or possession, acceptance and/or use or misuse of prize or participation in any Promotion-related activity and claims based on publicity rights, defamation or invasion of privacy and merchandise delivery. Additional Terms: In case of dispute as to the identity of any entrant, entry will be declared made by the authorized account holder of the email address submitted at time of entry. "Authorized Account Holder" is defined as the natural person who is assigned an email address by an Internet access provider, online service provider, or other organization (e.g., business, educational, institution, etc.) responsible for assigning email addresses or the domain associated with the submitted email address. Any potential winner may be requested to provide Sponsors with proof that such winner is the authorized account holder of the email address associated with the winning entry. Any attempted form of entry other than as set forth above is prohibited; no automatic, programmed, robotic or similar means of entry are permitted. Sponsors, their affiliates, partners and promotion and advertising agencies are not responsible for technical, hardware, software, telephone, mail or other communications malfunctions, errors or failures of any kind, lost or unavailable network connections, web site, Internet, or ISP availability, unauthorized human intervention, traffic congestion, incomplete or inaccurate capture of entry information (regardless of cause) or failed, incomplete, garbled, jumbled or delayed computer transmissions which may limit one's ability to enter the Promotion, including any injury or damage to any person's computer relating to or resulting from participating in this Promotion or downloading any materials in this Promotion.
